Just seen AVB interview on SSN. He said that "preparation for the game was not a good enough standard and that was down to him"
What the hell does he mean by that? He's had all week to prepare for the game so what the hell is going on?

The thing is at Chelsea once you lose the fans that's it.

Despite what rival fans/media say Chelsea fans are some of the most down to earth people you will find.

Most Chelsea fans 20 years of age+ will have experienced mediocrity and dross but if you lose the fans here there is no way back for you, that's why Scolari got the sack.

Ranieri and Jose were revered here and Carlo was to a far lesser extent.

I wanted Carlo to be given another season and when he was sacked Hiddink was my first choice but when AVB came in I was willing to give him time and to be fair he really did talk the talk, but the best thing now would just be to cut our losses.

RA just needs to swallow his pride IMO and get Jose back, it will give the whole club a lift. As a fan I haven't felt this disillusioned in about 10 years or so.

The only way we will play in the CL next season IMO is if we win it and on current form I can't see that happening.

If we act now I think Gus could get us 4th still.

In an ideal world I'd love to win it and take the place away from whoever finishes 4th,Arsenal preferably.

Agreed, to be honest I was a little apprehensive about AVB when he got Tommy Langley sacked from Chelsea TV simply for one opinion

Thing is though, it's not been right since the special one left... is it really down to the managers we've had since or the players that still remain ? Yes of course there is the element of malouda/bosingwa not even being worth 70p a week let alone 70k, we've relied too much on Drogba the last 2 seasons, Torres was a bad buy let's face it (maybe this was another signing over the head of the manager), the list goes on...

There is just too much at stake this year. With FFP round the corner there is a big possibility that whoever misses out this year will never get back in. If Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool don't make it I can't see how they would next year with their current squads, you need CL football to stand a chance of getting any decent player.

I am not normally an advocate of sacking managers but the club have around 2 weeks to decide if it's a risk worth taking and if it were me I'd be on the phone to Guus and Jose ASAP

I think the biggest issue at Chelsea has been the level of players they've been buying. I remember when deco and ballack were bought, Jose said "we have bought champions". That's the level Chelsea need to be buying, bought benayoun, miereles, Cahill and an over the hill torres. Benayouns never won anything in his career at club level, same with Torres and Cahill. Ramirez is okay not great. Romoe is too young to be depended on and sturridge to me is too inconsistent. It was a huge mistake letting Anelka go in opinion.

If you can keep going with the Mata type of players you'll be back to the level you were a few seasons ago.

I just looked at the table and the thought of Norwich passing Liverpool in the next couple of games cheered me up.

Now beer and curry to lift the cloud further.

Do you live in a universe where FFP rules don't exist?

The one thing you're ALL missing is......... you're asking RA to fix things , when he's the VERY MAN who broke it in the 1st place !!!!!!!!!
Do you really think he'll have some sort of epiphany and actually bring in someone good????????? Like Cappello !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He brought us Avram Grant, Shevchenko, Scolari, Torres, Ancellotti. He fired Mouhrino, Wilkins, Ancellotti, sanctioned the departure of Anelka, and allegedly bought De Bruyne. He created the obscene pay rates that now hang around our necks like a noose.
We're dealing with an enormous egotist with absolutely no clue on football matters, surrounded by synchophantic management of similar ability.
    Look somewhere else for saviour.

Of course not. It would be impossible. What I would do is be pro active and try, maybe through the Pitch Owners group, to try and get a meeting with him ,or management , and put across an opinion. Surely there is some way for the fans, who pay real ££££ to follow our team, to exert some influence or at least be heard ??
What we're seeing on these boards is an outpouring of frustration ,from me very much included .
I don't know the answer, but I think I can see the real problem.

Well some of the names thrown around as a replacement for AVB are Hiddink and Mourinho who both have experience in English football AND with Chelsea.

I know what you mean but Hiddink has managed Chelsea before and managed to turn a horrible season around so we all have faith in him <ok>

I believe IF IF AVB is sacked then he will be replaced until the end of the season by Hiddink and then Mourinho would come in.

Went yesterday and it was appalling...

Some decent possession, but the usual lack of creativity and service shone through...

We have a good squad of players, but AVB isn't getting it from them...give him four weeks off and give Guus a go and they would perform differently...and he wouldn't be coming back.

I want to like the guy, but I am slowly starting not to...his subs are ridiculous, Mata was our best player today to my mind, Sturridge last week when Evra was on a yellow and two of our goals came from that side...

The crowd turned on him when Mata went off..."you don't know what you're doing" was the first chant closely followed by "Jose Mourhino"...

It seems he is treading water, and the players know it as well...

Must also add that Everton were well up for it, even if their crowd wasn't!

    Can't argue with that <ok>

Was watching it on a stream so poor quality but we looked piss poor. Heard the crowd chants, must have been a terrible trip in football terms mate!

Interesting about the Mourinho chants, wonder what it's going to be like at home <yikes>.

I've just booked up for Stoke at the bridge, I wonder if AVB will be the one taking charge!

I think the verdict is pretty much unanimous - yes I know this is a transition period but I would like to see some evidence of improvement instead of this ongoing shambles. We've had weaker sides before , but at least on the odd occasion they made up in passion what they lacked in skill. Quite clearly AVB is not up to the task - we need to stop kidding ourselves and bring in Gus to see if he can perform his "lazarus miracle" until an adequate replacement can be found.

Would love to see Jose come back but Roman would have to sweeten the pill substantially if that were to happen; as for the rumours surrounding Capello.....you must be joking, his performance at the world cup was on a par with AVB's. The clock is ticking and we need to change things before Arsenal like their North London neighbours disappear into the distance with us settling for 6th place and the Europa Cup.
