Most United fans, including Neville on Sky, are suggesting there is nothing wrong with this.
It'd have to be a ****ing massive coincidence that Suarez just happened to be there as Evra passed him.

I hate this, I really do. People seems unable, unwilling even, to separate his on-field behaviour from his character off it. All of the stuff that people criticise him for happened on the pitch - the ear biting, the diving, the alleged racism. That has absolutely nothing to do with his character off it.

Do a google search on the work he's done off the field, if you want to know what he's really like.

He should have rephrased that to 'the hand of a man you feel has got you banned for 8 matches.'

for ****s sake i'm getting pretty pissed of with this now. its gone on far too long.
suarez should have shook evras hand and played the match. if he had all this bollox would be over.
we could still talk about the game, fair play to utd they were the better side and evra probably wouldn't have acted like a prick at the end which did him no favors either.
instead we're talking about this **** again and will be till the end of the season at least.
and on every thread on the liverpool board will be wums who'll just drop a word in for the thread to go into this **** all over again.
    ****ing sick of it

I'm actually bloody irritated at fergusons comments about Suarez. Who the he'll does he think he is. Did he say the same thing when bridge refused to shake terrys hand twice. Suarez has got every right to not shake evras hand. His reputation has been ruined and you expect him to feel okay about it. In your bloody dreams.
Kenny needs to blast ferguson for these comments.

The FA and the media are to blame for the whole situation today. FA decided Anton Ferdinand and Terry couldnt shake hands and scrapped it but basically said Johnny foriegners shouldnt have a problem shaking hands. The media have been fueling the fire all week and before, during and after the game.

The reporter after the game just brushed past Ferdinand not shaking Suarez's hand. Its each individuals choice whether to shake hands so dont condemn either of them. I am surprised Suarez didnt react to Evras taunting at the end of the game and he deserves some respect for that.

Wow , that sounds like the old Harry Enfield sketch...."I do a lot for chariteee!"

I was not partial to the legal discussions and was not looking to re-open the debate on the racism thing. I was purely talking about today. He showed no class, simples.
Unfortunately most footballers (and this includes Evra at times) are unable to live up to the spotlight shone upon them. We expect them to be the role models we pay for. Is this their fault, the media or ours?

So that biting, cheating and racial abuse is just his alter ego? It all makes sense now.

If someone branded me a racist and then i had to shake his hand, why would i? People are saying he should of, but by not shaking his hand then he clearly knows he was wrongly sentences, he wouldn't of done that otherwise, if Evra didn't shake Suarez hand then that's understandable for the fact he was found guilty of doing that.

But by trying to shake his hand he's basically suggesting 'Let's put it behind us.' Which no human would do after being accused of being a racist, it destroys your reputation forever.

Evra then grabbing his hand trying to force him to shake just made it worse, not the initial Suarez move, by doing that your trying to force things to be ok, putting yourself in the wrong more for the fact you feel guilty in what you've done.

Then to make matters worse, former Manchester united and England captain Ferdinand then refused to not shake his hand, making that ever worse than the other situations. He was never in the situation so he's doing it because he didn't shake Evras hand, which in itself is pathetic.

Fergie to then call Suarez a disgrace but then praise Evra for what he done and not commenting on Ferdinand is just lol worthy.

"As long as there is respect for each other before and after the game, there is no problem. You need to respect the emotion of the occasion. That doesn't mean you kick each other for 90 mins, but it does mean you shake hands before the game and after it" -Dirk Kuyt

sorry guys, but suarez is a scumbag. he might be a great footballer, but would you tolerate that kind of douche behaviour from your friends? be honest. He's really giving your club a bad name. The manager is out of touch with reality not telling him to shut up and behave and keeps backing him. You fans the same, backing this kind of stupid behaviour. When we had barton at newcastle, everyone i know was absolutely clear how stupid and unacceptable his behaviour has been at times.

    Personally, I blame Wayne Bridge.

He was the one who started this whole not-shaking-your-hand business.

It's ****ing shocking that some of you are STILL defending Suarez. Actually disgusting.
Some of you are trying to find every possible argument to discount him being racist. How about, possibly, just possibly, he was actually being racist? Or is that an impossibility for the angel of a man who got Ghana out of the World Cup with that handball and actually BIT a player while he was with Ajax?

Suarez admitted he used those words. He's guilty. That's it. It doesn't matter how he tried to use them. If you discriminate against someone because of their skin colour, it's racist. Ignorance is not an excuse, especially when you have already been in the country for an entire year up to that point.

I'm sure Suarez is pissed that Evra got him banned for 8 games, but it's entirely Suarez' fault as he was racist in the bloody first place. Letting that bitterness and stubbornness overflow by refusing to shake Evra's hand when Evra actually offered to draw the line under it is just a new low.
