Back to the rounding up of lurkers and general recruitment drive, I saw Grandspur getting a bit frustrated at the inabillity to have a proper debate on Ja so I gave him a little nudge this way.

He should be heading over here as soon as his mobility scooter charges. Someone might need to hide Luke.

Some BIG differences on not606 compared to the old beeb606.

Articles(Threads) are pushed up by comment (posts) not as in the old 606 pushed down by new articles. This means that good threads or at least popular threads remain 'alive' just as long as people post. No post and it slips down and out of sight. Many good articles on old 606 were lost before they started because of wum articles one liners and so on pushing them off the 1st page. BIG improvement IMO

The range of options for your posts is far greater. From fonts, type size, pictures, videos to just simple posts the choice is yours.

More control: Swear filters if you are offended by swearing or just don't want to see it. The ignore button enables you to blank out particular posters that annoy, bore or for any reason you do not want to see.

Moderation: Is by fans selected from the posters who use the board. You can private message them if you have a problem and of course you can private message any forum user. We are not 'Aunties' we are not looking to disable we look to enable. The mods respond to the forum if they don't the forum gets rid.

All these changes from old 606 lead to bigger and better threads and more in depth debates. Have a look if you have not already, see for yourself, this is the place to be if you prefer that. We still do the oneliners but here it's up to you it's not driven by dozens of meaningless threads.

There is a lot more but you will find all the options as you use it.

OK!<ok> right! no excuse, get posting, why would you want to place your world changing insights anywhere else!

  5. The other big difference, here, is that you will get banned from other boards, not for being openly abusive to other fans, but simply for saying things (no matter how politely, or well-argued) that the partisan fans do not want to hear.

It is the one aspect of this forum that is worse than the old 606.

But, if you can put up with such heavy-handed dictatorial control, you'll get on fine, here.

You wont find that on the Spurs board HIAG. The mods reflect their club, on the Spurs board we like free open and exciting play. On the Arsenal board they are just like Wenger; never see anything wrong with their views and throw their bottles when things don't go their way. On the Stoke board you just get beaten up but they will invite you back. <laugh>

  7. Agreed <ok>

We are adult and extremely robust, on this board, and not at all sensitive, like the Chavs, Gooners and Mickey Mousers.

I've never looked at it that way before, but I think you are right <laugh>

Let me extend you analogy method to other boards.

On the Chav board, they are just like their Russian oligarch - if they don't like what they hear, they get rid of you silently and painlessly.

On the Mousers' board, they are just like Queen Kenny - old women.

not606 has lots of good features that 606 did not - however I do miss the amount of inter-club banter - as 606 was Beeb it got lots more people involved - on here inevitably there are far fewer. That is why I find it strange that Chelsea would ban HIAG - I did query it with them and they reckoned he was too aggressive and was continously wumming. Not sure if they were really correct but indivduals can "ignore" people they don't like so why not leave it to those who want to do that - some of the rest of us enjoy a little bit of friendly banter - and of course that sometimes goes over the top - but you can usually judge the real football fans from those who only want to wind others up

Putting someone on ignore can & does seriously disrupt a thread's flow when reading it. I would also also add that there is a difference between a wum and an annoying irritant. I speak as an expert lol

One advantage of N606 is the ignore function. It means, for example, I don't have to see vast swathes of the petty, embittered vitriol of Liverpool or Chelsea fans polluting our board.

    What utter bollocks!

I constantly had Chav posters making vile personal attacks on me, and I never sank to their level - not once. The aggression was all theirs.

And as for "continuously wumming," firstly, it isn't true - unless by "wumming" they mean "arguing an alternative point of view in a potent, polite and logical fashion" - and, secondly, even if it was true, why should wummery be an excuse for banning? It's utterly pathetic! By saying, for example, that I think Terry should not only be stripped of his England captaincy, but should also forfeit his place in the squad because his presence in the dressing room, with his trial unresolved, could cause a damaging division between players, both in and out of the England squad, and could be extremely provocative to a certain type of rival fan - by saying something like that, as I idid, I have little doubt that it wound up every single one of the Chavs who posts on this forum, but why should that be an excuse to ban me?

As I say, their attitude - as with the likes of the cowardly PISKIE and the overly-sensitive Mousers - is utterly pathetic.

Mind you, the Chavs are reaping what they sow, as their board has resorted to being the graveyard it used to be, now that there is no genuine debate on their pathetic board. The only reason why there is so much debate on the Goon board is because most of their fans have had enough of their owners and Whinger, and refuse to any longer be blinkered by PISKIE's blind optimism.

Alright folks? I'm one of those lurker types and have been peering through my curtains at this site for a little while now. Was never on the original 606 but tried JA for a little while and am excited by the prospect of a site where most of the articles are actually about football.
Looking forward to getting involved in the debate and banter!
