It ain't over til the fat lady sings. If Chelsea or Arsenal finish ahead of Spurs in the league and have a decent run in Europe, QF say; they will still be top dogs in LOndon.

Not really, even if Spurs are still seven or points ahead of us come March 24, when we play them at home, we can still overtake them.

Enjoy the stadium tour. Hope you got a replica shirt from the club shop

I actually think there's a good chance Spurs could finish 4th - lets see how they get through to the end of March - a tough set of fixtures ahead:

    Tottenham V Newcastle Sat 11 Feb 17:30
    Arsenal V Tottenham Sun 26 Feb 13:30
Tottenham V Man Utd Sun 4 Mar 16:10
    Everton V Tottenham Sat 10 Mar 17:30
    Tottenham V Stoke Sat 17 Mar 15:00
    Chelsea V Tottenham Sat 24 Mar 12:45

I would like to see Newcastle do it, I think they can get 6th though which will be very good so if not them I would prefer Arsenal though I think it will be Chelsea.

Correct. Spurs struggle v United and Chelsea traditionally.

And Chelsea have their experienced players coming back Terry Lamps Drog Cole; their best midfielder Ramires.

All it takes is an nice little injury to Torres, Drog is back on form, and we are a very good bet for third.

True, but then Chelsea also have Everton, City, Liverpool and Arsenal away, and Spurs and Newcastle at home. That's a lot tougher than Spurs' fixtures, although Spurs do have all six in a row. If Spurs are still ahead of Chelsea, even if only on goal difference, by the end of March they'll have third sewn up - their April fixtures are about as gentle a run in as you could ask for.

Arsenal are the only ones with a shout of taking 3rd spot from Spurs - they don't have any more away matches against top six clubs, and have both Spurs and Chelsea at the Emirates.

People can blab on about the fixture list all they like, but as a neutral opinion Spurs team is just better than Chelsea and Arsenal's at the moment:biggrin:

Why does it seem the past couple of seasons that Arsenal have had reletively easy run ins compared to everybody else?

The 2 seasons before they were still in with a shout of winning the league and both times had the easiest run ins yet still managed to bottle it.

I was trying not to say that. Thought it might make the Chelsea fans cry... ;)

This is true. Foolish me overlooked Arsenal's ability to bottle absolutely anything.

They should consider diversifying into soft drinks...

Fair point; and currently they are the best side in the capital.

But they may not be in the league table after 38 games. And they've had no CL this year to contend with.

Drog looking back to his best; and I'm sure Torres is due a little knock in training from one of his crew (Kalou Malou Ess etc) very soon ;)

    Aaaaah shucks :emoticon-0115-inlov

Its a nice surprise to see so much positive praise coming our way after all the, what I considered unwarranted, pleasure people seemed to take from us being relegated...Having said that, even just speaking to my fellow Toon fans, the season in the Championship did us the world of good, made us reassess our goals and simply meant that we could enjoy our football again (we'd already sunk pretty low, anything above that was a positive!)

I'd love Champions League football, ****, I'd love sneaking into Europe via a secret door behind the back door option (return of the intertoto cup anyone?) but considering we're currently bottom/second bottom of the fair play league, the only hope we'll have is through league qualification.

I'm not sure if we're good enough yet. We have strength, but not so much in depth, at one point we had to play 5"9 Danny Simpson as CB against the most prolific header's in the Premiership, Norwich! Part of me thinks even if we just miss out and finish 7th/8th it'll be OK 'cause it will mean an improvement on last year and provide us with a platform to go off for next year, but the other part of me is worried that without European football, our stars will be far more willing to 'have their heads turned'.

Either way, I'd loved this season, and "I would love it if we beat them" ... to european qualification!

Cheers for the comments and good luck for the rest of the year!

It's not through love that I'd like your mob in fourth, more being able to laugh at the mopes you'd replace in getting fourth..

Though I do like pardew, think he has worked wonders.. Though this is not to say I wouldn't laugh if you somehow managed to get relegated.. As two of my oldest mates are from Newcastle.

This said good luck getting fourth!!

Financial Fair Play. The UEFA rules that say you can only get a UEFA license if you balance the books and only spend what you earn. The bell that tolls for City and Chelsea in other words...
