Morning all, couple of inches of snow in bandit country but nothing to worry about. Not going to get above zero degrees today so might have to watch out for ice later. Valentines disco for Little Miss Sandy tonight at school, she's only 5 so I don't have to worry about boys just yet. :emoticon-0141-whew:

I'm hoping we can keep our winning streak going tomorrow and get into the mid table bunch. I'll be looking down the table and hopefully see the others around us lose ground.

Thank for the coffee ak, and keep it coming <ok>

Morning all, just off out a trip to the dentist then cross country to Northants, here's hoping the snow gods are on my side;) Might not get a chance to catch up over the weekend, so I hope everyone has a good one and we are three points the better off come Saturday evening;)

Morning all, i woke this morning to find that there had been no more snow so we have 2.5inches on the ground. Its a nice snow as its not frozen so is nice and fluffy. I am hoping that the kiddies football is on, so that i can get my brother with a snowball, <devil>

I left the house at 7:40 to get in for 9:00 and only managed to walk into uni at 8:50.

Morning all - a light dusting of snow in Bandit Country, but no big deal. Busy day and I have to drop Little Miss W_Y at the station and go down the butchers to get something for dinner...

I see SD has dodged the MOM curse again. Maybe 3 wins out of 4 every month is a good think if he can slip under their radar all the time! Who around us is playing Birmingham?? We cant expect any favours now.

Good choice - at least the series will still be alive at that one. The Aussies should have it wrapped up just seven days later. ;)

Evening all, Fine day today and the temperature in the sun reached 0C which meant that some of the snow just started to melt, but now it is all freezing up again.

I read somewhere that Forest have under soil heating, so as long as someone remembered to turn it on there should be a game on tomorrow. ;) Looking forward a nervous win, but it is the Championship, so who knows?

Evening all, busy ol' day today but most of it good. Coffee with an old friend this morning, then my game of squash. I have to admit, having not played for months and being a relative newbie, i thought i'd be a bit rubbish today but i'm quite happy to report that my game hadn't slipped that much and though i was beaten, i wasn't hammered, yay me!

Since then i've been running kids here there and everywhere, though i have a quiet weekend ahead...two of them are away this weekend so i'm left with Little Miss H, who will be accompanying me to Nottingham tomorrow...we're hoping for lots of goals to help keep us warm!

I did forget to get the dinner in the oven, i think i relaxed too much today! lol..thankfully i did remember eventually so, though we've only just finished, at least we managed to eat!

    So, how's your day been?

A lazy day up here for me - mid term holidays started today, so had a lie in until 8:30 then enjoyed doing nothing until the rare treat of taking my wife for a leisurely lunch ;)

H - you got me jealous talking about your squash game - my favourite participation sport that, but I'm now just a tad too old to play:( Played it for years back in Oz - at least three times a week & even won a bronze medal in the city games. I'll have to hunt through some old shoe boxes to see if I can find it, then dream of past glories. <laugh>

A lazy day sounds lovely! And a leisurely lunch sounds perfect :)

Wow! I'm nowhere near good, but you sound amazing! Too old to play competitive squash maybe...but my opponent today is a few years older than me, and gets around the court like a spring chicken, he seems to be everywhere..there are very few shots he can't at least get to..even if he can't return them sometimes! lol...ha! Too old? surely not BB! :)

It's dangerous to go back to playing after a few years away - heart attack territory :(

Having said that, my game was always about positioning and anticipation rather than being able to sprint around the court - which was fortunate as most of the games I played lasted for two hours or more. Except when I first played my wife not long after we met - she played ladies fixtures and, to her everlasting regret, challenged me to a game, which lasted around 15 minutes before she collapsed in an unhappy heap! I must admit I panicked for a while, thinking that I'd 'blown my chances' :emoticon-0107-sweat

i don't think my game is fast enough to be dangerous...i'm just a novice after all. So even at my age, i think i'm safe. Though if i drop dead, you'll know why!

i did play Mr H once, never again. He is so competitive he didn't give me a shot! lol...i think i'd only played a couple of times before that day..you'd have thought he might have been gentle, but nooooo...lol not a bit of it!

A man after my own heart <laugh>

My youngest son was interested in learning to play about 14 months ago - the nearest squash club to us, two towns away, said that they could provide coaching but never did so I gave him a few lessons myself. Was gentle with him most of the time but the red mist did come down once or twice & I couldn't resist blasting him around the court <devil>. Unfortunately, I tore a muscle in my shoulder and couldn't continue - divine retribution? - and by the time it healed he had lost interest :(

aw, that's a shame! But i hate to think that karma really exists ;). I actually started playing with Master H, while i was a member of a gym, but now i've given up the membership, i have to rely on one friend who plays. Like i say, he's super good, but he's not in the least bit competitive with me and likes to help me play, rather than make it rather one sided and boring lol...it's good fun, but an all too rare occurrence!

I used to play with the girl who dropped out of the Miss Venezuela competition to be replaced by substitute who then went on to win Miss World, then I got married and I was forced to stop, if I started playing again the wife would kill me!!!!
