I can see where your coming from but I think its still too early to say whether or not he will be good enough. I obviously hope he is, but I don't think he can be included in the list of players who could make the step up yet. Anyway for me:

Yes: Richardson, Hooiveld, Schneiderlin, Lambert, Sharp (if he settles in the area)

Maybe: Punch, Lallana, Cork, Fonte, Fox, Hammond, De Ridder

    No: the rest

Lala and Lambo for sure. A lot of players will have a point to prove if we reach the promised land, and there's no doubt that some will step up to the mark.

You don't always need talent, but you do need teamwork. Look at Swansea and Norwich. Personally I think it takes 3 years to stabilise as a Prem team, once you've gotten past that marker, you are established and can start to attract bigger names to supplement your team.

I would like to think that we would get a new GK in if we went up to replace Kelv. Maybe keep him as back up for his last season, and i would keep bart.

Fox and richardson will be good enough if we just want to survive.

Davis, Fox, Fonte, Richardson (been consistently good this year, however PL is very different), Fox, Lallana, Hammond, Cork, Lambert, Sharp (depends how he does really though). Bear in mind these are the only players in the squad. We would still need to improve drasticaly, and i'd imagine it'd only be Lambert, Lallana and fonte that would start.

He has been very inconsistent this season so I can see why he would put him in the maybes...

The only players i can actually see doing consistently well in the PL are Lallana, Morgan Lambert and Cork. I would say fonte but his form this season has changed that. Davis is a definite no, was amazing in league 1, but is now average in the champ. I dont even think Sharp will do very well either, Would of much rather had Hooper.

Hmmmmm, after a few more games I can't see some of our squad making it in the Prem

Good Enough for Starters: Kelvin Davis, Morgan Schneiderlin, Rickie Lambert, Jack Cork, Billy Sharp, Tadanari Lee, Adam Lallana, Jos Hooiveld, Danny Fox

Backup: Dan Harding, Dean Hammond, Aaron Martin, Ben Reeves, Steve De Ridder, Jose Fonte, Frazer Richardson, Jason Puncheon

Will Go: Guly, Richard Chaplow, Danny Butterfield, Radhi Jaidi, Lee Barnard (too far down the pecking order unfortunately), Bart Bialkowski, David Connolly, Lee Holmes, Dan Seaborne, Ryan Dickson, Tommy Forecast, Ryan Doble, Johnathon Forte, Harlee Dean

I just can't see Guly do Prado staying here anymore, it doesn't look like he wants to be here and I can't blame him

So, looking at that, we need a:

RB: Adam Matthews (20yr old Celtic RB)
    CB: Alex Pearce
CM: Tom Cairney or Jordan Mutch
    RM: Matt Phillips
    ST: Kevin Doyle
    GK: David Stockdale

Most young players who can develop with us <ok>

Need a RM, CM, CB and possibly a RB. Another thing i think may happen is a new GK, i think KD is good enough but every year you see the promoted teams bring in top keepers and kelvin wasnt the most successful keeper he in the Prem last time

I think we are in danger of downplaying what this squad of players have achieved. Granted not all these players will hack it in the Premier but we should at least give them a chance. Most of us said the most we could hope for with this squad was mid-table and here we sit

    TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!!

Yes we will need additions but I think the players deserve a chance to prove themselves. Trust Nigle and the Don to make the right decisions!

Fox has nailed down a place in the team of the year if you ask me. Awesome player going forward, great delivery from set piece and usually has to defend a whole flank on his own. Also shows great passion and always riles up the fans away from home.

WE cannot judge who is good enough because confidence is such a boost. Look at Norwich and Swansea. Who would have thought the likes of Surman, Dyer, Pilkington, Holt, Ruddy, Howson among others, would have made it in the prem? I certainly doubted Dyer even when he was with us. Though he had pace but nothing else. So just wait to see how the players do in the prem when/ If they get there.

If we get promoted then it surely says that the whole squad is too good for the championship so should do the job in the Premiership. But if we want to be sure that we will stay up then i think a couple of additions will be needed.

    RB - Clyne
    CB -
    GK - Smithies
ST - Zaha (He could cover this position as well.)
RM - Zaha, (only if we can get him)
