i made a thread about tash earlier in the week stating just this your definatley not the only one

 

The last two were still football related like so you cant really have a go at him for that, personal opinion really.

And the advice on women thread was...well.. I think everyone will agree, a masterpiece and the funniest thread we've ever had. Not directed AT tash obviously, but some of the responses we came up with were classic

 

Not sure why Tash is bearing the brunt of this. Yes he has been responsible for some pretty distasteful articles, however, he aint the only one ( first thought, the women eating **** article.)



This is Not606, free of the over bearing 606 mods, lets not over step the mark and abuse the freedom that we have on this site.

 

A set of forum house rules will help prevent pointless '****' threads from coming up again.

 

Agreed, there's at least one or two posts from people, that are inappropriate and over the top, though its better to be more lenient than BBC 606.

Agree with all of this, newcomers to the site will be immediately put off by some of our articles and they are getting a bit ridiculous.

 

Amen! Leazes, you're making a fair point and I agree with you, some of the threads have been OTT but Tash can't bear the brunt of the blame for this!

I've gone off topic enough times, I started ones about music, charity, craic we'd be up to the weekend...I don't mind holding my hands up and admitting I've used this as much for a bit of banter as I have for discussing our actual football team!

 

I don't mind banter threads, there's only so much football you can discuss. It's vile threads I hate. Tash isn't the only one admittedly, I just used him as an example.

I don't believe I am being a pain in the arse by the positive response, good to hear I am not alone!

No you're not alone Leazes. You've been doing a good job by giving us room to roam but I think you are spot on by speaking out now. Banter threads to kill the time between games are fine and infact necessary to keep the community together. But there is a line that needs to be drawn and some of the articles recently have gone over that line.

I'm all for banter but to be perfectly honest the old 606 left it standing.

 

There's no way you're being a pain in the arse:

1) it's your job as moderator to quite simply moderate.
2) The points you're making are absolutely valid, my only issue was with people (not necessarily you) singling Tash out as the sole perpetrator of anything non-football related! As I said, sometimes his posts have been a bit OTT but at the end of the day I know there's not only him who's guilty!

yeah some are abit crazy some are just wrong.

 

I think the key issue is that we need the 'After Hours' section to really be pushed. If an article appears that's horrendously off-topic or NSFW, it gets moved there. People can still have their banter but it's not upsetting the people who come on here purely for football talk.

 

Fortunately I managed to miss these threads somehow.
