Another fine mess. Where to start?

Why was Terry's case delayed until after the Euros? Presumably the FA supported the delay and then decided he couldn't be captain with a court case hanging over him. What were was the judge thinking of allowing a delay when an ordinary citizen presumably wouldn't have got one?

If he's not disbarred from being in the England squad as a player, why can't he be captain? Surely if he can do the first, he can do the second. It seems to me the FA have been concerned with avoiding public embarrassment by minimising Terry's visibility rather than taking any moral position.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? I'm rabidly anti-racist but I can't see the logic in the FA conspiring in delaying the case and then taking what amounts to disciplinary action against Terry.

As others have noted, if a decision was to be made, why was Capello apparently not consulted?

As in so many things these days, politicians & pseudo politicians making daft and damaging populist decisions in an attempt to appear like hard-men I fear.

Capello not being consulted was an own goal by the FA.

With Terry possibly in the Euro squad where does that leave a new captain and his authority in the dressing room and on the field ?

So if Rio Ferdinand makes the squad as well.....and I think the powers that be are stupid enough to allow that to happen, how good will the team spirit be with Rio supporting his kid brother (Anton).

England really should bring both their England careers to an end.....they are the past, and not the players they were before injuries.

I think that Capello will not be missed.......And maybe......just maybe.......we should leave Harry Redknapp alone to do what he can this season with his Spurs team.

That being so I think we should have a caretaker manager until after the Euro Tournament......we aint gonna win it thats for sure.

Good old dependable Stuart Pearce should be given the job with a support team of his choosing.

After the Premiership and Euro Tournament have been put into the history books.......we then have a clean sheet.........Harry would have found out that his Spurs team were not quite goodenough for the top prize and will not be left wondering if he should have stayed at Spurs......and the FA could then make Redknapp England manager.

Of course the big problem would be if Stuart Pearce won the damn Euro Tournament..............in your dreams baby.

Well he has his chance plymborn. For once there is nothing I can even midly argue with in your post notdistant. Damn I hope this doesn't become a habit.

England have little chance of winning anything unless they pull down the current system and re-vamp the lot. There is great talent out there but it needs to start being sorted from an early age. The current system is a school teacher with a love of the game sees a kid of 8 who shows promise and possibly gives him a bit of amateur coaching. Notifies the local club of his existants and they watch him for a while and see how he goes. Rather than that they should take him and professionally coach him from the start even at that age. Never mind games played it should be passing and ball skills and that sort of stuff. As he gets older then up the training and coaching given. Multiply this by 1000 across the country and in 10 years or so you have a great crop of properly coached kids arriving on the big stage. That's what other countries have been doing for ages now and no wonder they are going forward and we as usual are going backwards. We need many more qualified coaches in this country which other countries have compaired to us. The reason our premiership goes foreign with it's signings is that the numbers developed in Britain are not there to supply the demand for instant success. The few that do make it despite the system don't get much of a look in because of clubs nervousness in giving youngsters a chance when only success is acceptable no matter what or it's their head for the chopping block. Our supply for national games is therefore running thin and the old guard hang on for too long because there is little or no challenge over their shoulder. They know this and are too comfortable in their shirts to make them as competative as they could be or should be.

I think we can pretty confidently rule out Rio Ferdinand being fit Plymborn - he hasn't been fit for 2 years and £10m in Man U wages!

At least we can rule him out for friendlies, SAF won't let him out to play in those and in my book, any player who can't be bothered with England friendlies could go whistle when the glamour tournaments crop up.

Or not actually doing any work at home plymborn as an alternative. If, when I was working, I made a post on a football forum whilst I was meant to be working I would have been up on a disciplinary. You just can't get the workers these days...............damned left wing loonies rule the asylum and make all things possible.:steam:

That's an evil laugh you have there. The last time I heard that was 5 minutes after I said "I do". I found out at 6 minutes what it meant...............

It's quiet in here tonight. Do you think notdistant is having to do overtime because he was skiving on here this afternoon? plymborn is probably out looking for owls. I was going to say something about Gat being out on the streets but she is as scary as you.

    <laugh> Poor deprived mrs sensible.
Yes unusual for Plym not to be around causing trouble. I noticed distant was here earlier, some of his posts make interesting reading. His coments on Fabrio Copello made good reading.

He's changed his name to Copoutello. Mind you after years of humiliating exits he probably thinks he is better off out of it as well.

Constructive criticism Mrs LaLa.........not causing trouble.........or out searching for owls.

Thursday is a busy day...........picking little Lily up from Early Learners at 12.30pm.........then picking up her brother Jacob from school at 3.45pm.....looking after them and giving them dinner until Dad picks them up and takes them home at 7pm.

Then having an old work colleague around for a meal......and then taking him home through the snow at 10.30pm.

No time to keep sensible on the straight and narrow tonight...........he's probably shell shock to find his cellar re-arranged........he can't find anything now......especially the bar-maid.

I do stop for the occasional cup of tea Sensible [during the afternoon] or coffee in the morning.

In the evenings, especially Friday evenings, it's wise not to type anything even if I could find the keyboard.

Morning all, full English plz.....I've not deserted you all but laptop had packed up and took over a week to fix....great comeback on Sat and hopefully new signings will prove themselves....now approaching mid Feb and need to start winning on a regular basis or else were in trouble....surely the team we have now should be able to hold their own in this league or maybe we underestimated the quality here.
