Sort this one out for us lads, my mate back from Nottingham Trent Uni for a weekend has miraculously developed a soft spot for Leicester City FC. But anyway thats irrelevant, basically hes saying we should do our upmost to sign Yakubu in the summer as he thinks he's s**t hot and would be quality for us. I on the other hand would rather stick burning needles in my eyes than see him wear a newcastle shirt, I think hes past it and no better (or possibly worse) than wor Shola.

So would he be any good? Y/N

No need to look at younger hungry players

Was a good player but think injury and age have taken their toll on him.

Errr, I'd have him. Think he is more of a threat than our strikers. Would have been a good deal imo.

That doesn't take much though does it, Leon Best won't score again this season, he only scores when the date ends with a 5.

Haha it is funny you even had to make a poll, you should have slapped your mate and advised him we are possibly looking to buy a number 9 not a number 38

I think Best is potentially better but Yakubu would definitely be a improvement over the likes of Loverrman, Ameobi and Kuqi, but I think we could do much better in the summer, buy someone a bit younger, with a bit more desire, hunger and technically adept. I like Yakubu, I just think he's a bit past it now, can still do a job in the PL though!

Yakubu doesnt look like he's been hungry for a long time <whistle>

If he was still good enough for the PL he'd be playing in the PL, it's not like Everton are overwhelmed with striker options either

I think we'd be better off bringing through the youngsters.

If we were to sign anyone from Leicester, it'd be Andy King.

Someone to partner Best maybe? 6 goals in 10 games isn't a bad return from the lad and with the right players coming in he can only improve on the few games he's played this season.

    As for Yakubu, **** no!

Yeah agree, I really am starting to like Best, even in the Championship when he was banging in the goals for Coventry you could see he had something about him and now he's showing what he's made of.. and he's definitely made of decent quality although I think we need a better striker to play off him.. not Loverman that's for sure, he's definitely past it IMO.

    No. Just no.

No debate about it needed, just common sense and a pair of eyes.

I seriously rate Yakubu, was very sad to see his injury problems, without them I reckon he'd be scoring regularly for Man Utd about now.

Depending on the wages, I'd take him.
