As the England job appears, according to everybody, to be a one horse race I thought we could do with another hat in the ring. So I am throwing Peter Taylor's hat in, currently the Bahrain national coach I am sure he must be getting fed up with all that sunshine and is missing the log fires of home. He did have a successful time managing England under 21's, 15 played; 11 won, 3 drawn and 1 defeat, not much wrong there. Played for Spurs under Burkinshaw brought in by Hoddle. As we are the team of the moment the pedigree is there. So why not Peter Taylor maybe with Stuart Pearce as a double header. They could share the flak and the last double act with a Peter Taylor in it was quite successful I seem to remember. So Pearce and Taylor for England. Harry for Spurs!. That's better.
The last really dull manager England had was Alf Ramsey. I think you have found the secret smart. We need a dull manager for England someone who is really boring and sends the press to sleep. Who catches the last train to Reigate and completes the Times crossword on the way home to the little wife. Has his bangers and mash and then off to bed. Woy fits the bill, who else?
The last train to Reigate is about 11:30 - he might have to skip the post-match media conferences to get to Victoria for the 10:40 to Redhill...
I read the Independent and prefer Sudoku, so that rules me out as The Sun'll paint me as a Leftie - especially when I drop John Terry, before leaving him in a locked room with the Ferdinand family for twenty minutes to have a full and frank discussion about race relations...
Are you being serious El_Bando! The governor & Pearce would put fear into the opposition. Sherringham is far too bright.
