Stoke game - An opportunity for the Youngsters and fringe players.

  1. Our injury list is getting bigger by the second. Barton and Jonas now could be out for Stoke. Enrique isn't 100% fit, Raylor suspended, no Routledge, no Smith, no Gosling.

I think apart from a few fringe players and regular starters, we should let some of the younguns have shot against Stoke. I'd prefer Tiote to stay out of this one to be honest. I can't see us winning with a weakened squad, and one more yellow card and he's out for 2 games. We have big games coming up against Wolves and Villa, and we need all our first choice players fit and ready to play for the final push starting April.

We should just give all our developing prospects a chance. We'll most likely lose the match, but it return we'll be letting some promosing young prospects have a real chance.

    My team for Stoke -

    -----------------Harper-----------------

    Simpson-----Williamson-Taylor-----Perch

    Guthrie-------Nolan-----Vuckic---Ferguson

    ----------------Shola------Ranger--------------

We have quite a few physical players ones that could withstand Stoke's physical game.
The likes of Kuqi, Vuckic and Ranger will be useful in helping hold off Stoke's devestating set plays and physical play. I'd like to see a Williamson and Taylor combo. This game could be a one for experimenting, and i think this CB duo would be more usefull against teams with bigger players, who love their set plays.

Aswell as giving a few fringe players a chance, we'd also be giving some newer prospects a chance to get some much needed experience. I can't see us getting any points from this game, and it's not worth risking everything we have left on this game. I don't like to say it's not vital, but we have a last gasp push of games starting from april, and the Wolves game is when i want to see everyone fit and back in ship shape.

    Thoughts?

Lets not think about damage limitation. I'd rather we lose 5-1 and develop some prospects, than risk everything we have left, and lose 2-1. We might scrape a point ok, but we could lose more than a points worth of players! I know this isn't a great attitude to have, thinking the game is already lost, but i personally think we shouldn't take a risk, when were so close to achieving safety, and we have the chance to win a few games in the not so distant future, if we regenerate slowly, and make sure our full strength squad is available for the final push.

  3. Who would you suggest putting on the right wing? Simpson is not RW and i don't want to see him there again.

And about Kadar, i'd put perch LB then.

I'd go 5 at the back, wing backs like
    Simmo Saylor Willo Colo Fergi

Then midfield I have no idea. Might have to be Guthrie on right if Joey's out.
Difficult when we have no idea who's playing..

  6. How quickly i finish basically depends on how good a porn video i find. I can resist ones about Milfs seducing younger men, that's my fantasy ;P

But put comments about that on my other threads mate, this is a srs dicussion :)

Can't see that line up at all.

    1) Nolan & Vuckic are both attacking-minded midfielders who like to get forward as much as possible and there's nobody there to break things up when Stoke attack us.. erh, someone like Tiote shall we say???
    2) Willo and Saylor are too similar in style IMO, only Saylor's more comfortable with the ball and a more attacking threat in set-pieces.
    3) Kuqi playing off Ranger? are you nuts? Wouldn't work out all IMO.. prefer having Best and Ranger.
    4) Guthrie is awful out wide, just a no-no there.

I like the idea of promoting youngsters in this match with all our injures and such but IMO it's quite a important match.. win and were basically 1 or 2 points away from the mark of safety, lose and we'll be back there in the ****hole.. draw would be the most probable outcome if Barton/Guti/Enrique don't play. Assuming they aren't fit(Guti/Jose/Barton) I'll personally have this line up :

    Harper
    Simpson Saylor Willo Colo Ferguson
    Guthrie Nolan Tiote
    Ranger Best

532 - Strong at the back, 2 wing-backs, three in the middle with Guthrie's passing/technique, Nolan's leadership/strength/attitude/goalscoring threat, Tiote's all round defensive play, Ranger's threat in the air and Best's threat on the deck.. seems fairly reasonable and possibly the best team we could put out.

    Vuckic is injured...

Edit : WE HAVE to play Tiote, I'll rather we risked him in this game than Wolves were we could easily move Barton back centrally to partner Nolan if Tiote picks up a yellow.

Still need to win as many points as possible, can't afford to take too many chances.

Probably because Tiote will be a key player in stopping Stoke, rather him for Saturday then for Villa and Wolves with the risk of missing another 2.

I would agree that we still need as many points as possible so we need to get into each game with our strongest possible lineup.

This isnt the time to be toying about with youth players who havent played for us yet, we can maybe do that once survival is guaranteed.

Until we're safe, its the strongest possible team week in week out for me. Hit 42 points, then yes blood some of the youngsters

Why are people responding to a lad doubting newcastle to beat stoke. Do you even play football? i mean ****.

your prediction : Lets not think about damage litigation, 5-1, 2,1. Serious wtf

MY PREDICTION FOR THIS WEEKEND. is 2-0 newcastle Ranger to get both

my utmost respectfull thought on the matter would be 2-2

dont no if you realised this but in 7 days alot can happen

the whole point of your thread is ludicrous.

I actually like the general idea, but not against a big physical team like Stoke, and not when we're still not guaranteed safety, but I do agree that we need to blood these so called "ones for the future" a little bit more when possible.

    I would play:

    Harper
    Simmo Saylor Collo Ferguson
    Guthrie Tiote
    Lover Nolan Jonas
    Best

If Jose does play, then Ferguson LM and Jonas RM.

I think try Guthrie at DM next to Tiote - it might suit his style of play.
