Phil Brown seen lurking in the shadows at Wembley..... No sorry it was that bloke from the Tango adverts
Good for Fabio---undermined by the F..k A.l ----why employ someone when you make decisions for them good to see we want to do well at the Euros
Will be interesting to see who gets the job. Mourinho would be my first choice but doubt he'd do it. Few Spurs fans seem to think if Redknapp gets the England job they'll get Mourinho in next season. I'd rather have Martin O'Neill than Redknapp, Sunderland have had the best form in the league since he took over I heard? Quality manager anyway.
My thoughts exactly DJ,if only we could oust the FA,that is the ****ing arseholes, now,we could be laughing.
It'll take an alchemist to turn those leaden useless ****s into golden players. Harry wont, Fergie wouldnt, even Mourhino wouldn't be able to. Silk purses, pigs ears.
You've posted that on enough threads now. In my opinion the main problem with our national team is too many people spouting this kind of crap. Whatever happens it is considered a failure, we recently beat the best team in the world with half our best team missing (and they had a very strong team playing) but nobody batted an eyelid. It's nothing short of pathetic the amount of England fans that have such an obsession with knocking their national team regardless of what has happened. In any other country in the world the national team are considered national heroes (including the South American countries where many of them are notorious drug barons). But simply because the media tell us we shouldn't think that way everyone feels the need to hate them. The FA don't help themselves, it's obvious that the media pile the pressure on with things like the Terry saga but they could have ended all speculation if they wanted but chose to draw it out. Capello also didn't help by stripping Terry of the captaincy originally when he was obviously the best man for the job and it was such a stupid, irrelevant thing that he was stripped of it for. We desperately need to get away from this celebrity culture surrounding our national team's best players. It's absolutely cringeworthy that they are seen as glossy magazine stars like Kerry Katona and Katy Price rather than what they actually are: athletes.
there seems to have been a big problem with the whole terry situation.. here's what he said to italian press allegedly. (google translate) I was made a great discourtesy, and undermined my authority - said Capello -. What struck me and forced to make this decision was the fact that the much-vaunted Anglo-Saxon sense of justice, which are the first to preach that no one is guilty until final judgment, has failed. In the case of Terry gave me a grave discourtesy, and undermined my authority as head of the National and effectively creating a big problem to the team. Historically not tolerate certain types of interference, and so I was easy to contest and take the decision to leave. "
"What struck me and forced to make this decision was the fact that the much-vaunted Anglo-Saxon sense of justice, which are the first to preach that no one is guilty until final judgment, has failed" Well said, Fabio PS. You were a ****e manager for us, but I applaud your conduct
I honestly don't understand why everyone vvanks over Redknapp, it seems people completely overlook his entirely average career pre Spurs. Jose is almost certain to quit in May after fulfilling his aim of being the first man to win the 3 big leagues in Europe. It's the best opportunity England will ever have.
I haven't got any stats to hand but how many games did we lose under him? I'd bet it was less than 10%. And beating Spain just took the piss didn't it? I'd agree with this, though some say Jose wouldn't manage a national side other than Portugal.
I think this is an opportune time for Capello to make his exit. he knows with all this going on with Terry etc, that England have little chance of having a good tournament, so he was looking for a good excuse to get out.
I think Jose is waiting for the Man u job... but as SAF isn't leaving just quite yet, he could very well see England as being another achievement to have under his belt before Man u role. Mind you I'm not convinced many managers would rather be national side managers than club managers. It pays well but it can sometimes make you disappear into the dark depths of the football management world.
And? We failed when it mattered. Yes, as did failing to beat the likes of Algeria, the USA and Montenegro
I actually think Mourinho would be good, I think the relationship he would have with the players would be a good one, his english is very good in comparison to capello and he would probably be closer to the players, have more of a bond. WHether or not that's a good thing, I don't know.
