WTF are they doing with our taxes? The nasty little ****e who decided to prosecute should be sacked ( after being handed over to the Spuds boys for some treatment).
Exactly what's wrong with the country. How many student's fees could be paid for with that money? £8m to find out he wasn't guilty, what a fail.
hang on..student fees? thats the last place i would want my taxes to go..to fund some hippies who want to do made up degrees just so that the universities can juice the system...useless degrees that dont mean schit! however the OP sees sense as all this was a waste of money just to get one over on a high profile individual.
There is a lot about this that is disturbing. For the majority of the public they are mercifully spared the warth of HMRC, but for those running business (smaller ones even more so) they are quite simply terrifying bullies. For all those who say serves the rich so-and-sos right, just know that it is the hard working small business man, the sole trader, who is really struggling in the current climate, and who is weighed ujnder by the ravages of employment law and red tape, who HMRC turne their ire towards because they are an easy target. The rich and powerful goet away with it because they can afford the best tax defence lawyers (often ex-HMRC officials). Take the case of Vodafone recently, let off millions in tax. What also surprised me about this case was how it all hinged on taped evidence obtained without the prior consent of the defendantr. Even in murder trials they say this sort of evidence can't be used, so come it get's used here, it's eveidence from a scumbag newspaper scribe.
I think its unfair to criticise the prosecutors. The CPS must've thought they had a tight case especially with the recording of Redknapp admitting to a reporter on tape that the payment was due to a player transfer. Then you have the Monaco account in the dog's name, I'm sure they put all the evidence together and thought they had a case and rightly so. These issues of tax evasion are often quite complicated but we can't expect the Crown NOT to pursue these cases when it looked as though they had a very real chance of being right/winning. Why was it obvious they wouldn't win ? Just cos Harry said he did nothing wrong ? Purlease.
Arry "allegedly" dodged tax on 189k. How much tax would he even have paid from that 189k anyway? Is it more than 8 million? To fail in prosecuting him is just the cherry on top of a **** up sundae.
LOL - True. But again if you applied that logic to most things they don't become financially viable, but if people attempt to break the law, what are the CPS supposed to do, let everyone go because it is not financially viable ?
It was 5 years of investigation, Davidako. I think that's the only reason that it went to court at all, to be honest. They spent all that money and time, so they felt that walking away wasn't an option. Poor decision.
is this where i am supposed to tell you what my occupation is because im insecure? what a sad kunt you are
Question for the Spuds now I suppose is: Are you happy that he's been cleared, seeing as it increases the likelihood that he'll become England manager in the summer?
Not particularly. If Wenger carries on the way he has been, then I win either way. He walks and you lose some stability, replacing him with someone that could upset the balance at your club. He stays and you continue to stagnate. He keeps saying that he's there til 2014 and he's making the board a lot of money, but that could change if your attendances take a hit. We'll see.
Win win eh? I think he'll stay regardless of where we finish this season. He has built the culture at the club and someone else coming in would have to instigate a culture shift at Arsenal, which would likely be extremely unsettling. Instant success is highly unlikely, we would probably be plunged into the full blown crisis that some have claimed we're witnessing now. There is no incentive for the club to disrupt the manager and the team in their project. Whilst it hasn't yielded any trophies for six years, it's seen three of those years having cup final teams and finish in the top 4 every season. So but for fine margins - it is working. I think we've been hit with losing some of our top players and not being able to properly replace them for a number of season, a result of a skewed transfer market in my opinion. Wenger has still managed to produce teams, whatever the circumstances that are in contention every year. I don't think people should underestimate his abilities in being able to achieve this.
Time they stitch up Capello and install Brooking as a makeshit ****wit Harry will take the reins up in May.
While I'd largely agree with what you've said Piskie, it's conceivable that fan pressure could see Wenger leave. If you were to finish outside of the top 4 and van Persie were to walk, for example, then a summer without major investment would leave your fans on a very short fuse. A poor start would make his position very tenuous.
