Just curious who do you think is faster? I know Hernandez was clocked as the fastest player at the world cup, but we often only see him at a full sprint in the box, when losing markers and getting on the end off crosses ect. Were as Welbeck seems to just be quick everywhere. Still think Rafael would smoke them both in a foot race.

    Your not making any sense.

You admit Hernandez is by far the best finisher and that Welbeck isn't creative. Case closed as far as im concerned.

Who cares if Welbeck has 5% higher passing percentage than Hernandez or makes one more successful dribble per match.

If he's not a creative player ala Rooney or Berbs or as good as finishing them as Hernandez then he's obviously not first choice. To claim he's twice the player simply because you judge a few passes to Rooney to be the be the most important thing in determining ability is quite ridiculous.

I`m a big fan of both players but believe Hernandez is one dimensional, granted its a very good dimension.MyWordIsGospel summed up Hernandez perfectly, Lineker with pace.DW could and should improve on his finishing but IMO Chicarito needs to improve in many other areas, some that are harder to teach than the composure DW needs to improve on, which will come with game time, remembering that DW was in our under 18`s 2 seasons ago while Hernandez was at a WC, so is behind him in both experience and game time.

End of the day I`m happy we have both players and believe both will do well for us.Hernandez`s pace means defences sit deeper against us which takes the pressure off our midfeild, which at present is a good thing given the lack of legs in there and DW has that skill, unpredictability and versatility about him.Horses for courses and both good options.

I remember first watching Welbeck when he was around 17 and the first thing that sprung to my mind was Thierry Henry. He has this languid flair on the ball, all pace and floating over the ground. His first few goals for United prettty much summed it up, the power against Stoke, the placement against Derby and the pace against Wolves (when he did that Usain Bolt pose!) (and those probably aren't his first 3 goals for United but its 3 of the ones he scored before going on loan to Sunderland).

Personally I think Hernandez's first touch and link up play has showed signs of improvement and I think Hernandez will be able to improve those much easier than Welbeck will be able to learn the positioning and movement Hernandez has in the box.

Berbatov has many parts to his game that are superior to Hernandez's yet he's way down in the pecking order, because you need to both create chances and put them away. Rooney is the best at creating them and Hernandez is hands down the best at converting them.

I think Welbeck is a good prospect but people are getting carried away. He's good but not exceptional at anything. Yet.

The lad is pure class.I first seen him at around 15, I think, I thought he was a mix of Henry and Kanu, some of the tricks the lad can do when his tails up are brilliant, and he has gone on to win every personnel accolade at junior level for United and I would be surprised if he doesnt continue the trend.

Off topic, I believe England are in for a real treat with DW and Sturridge as the front 2, with Wilshire, Cleverley, McEachran amd Shelvey providing a creative base in midfield along with a backline of Smalling, Jones,Walker and Harte, the future looks really promising.

Welbeck is a better all round player. He holds the ball up better than Hernandez, he brings people into the game better than Hernandez and outside the box is a player who keeps possession well. That's what you need in big games especially away from home.

Hernandez though is the better finisher, more clinical and his movement in the box is some of the best I have ever seen in my life. In a tight game where you need a goal I wouldn't hesitiate throwing Hernandez on more than anybody in the squad. Maybe just behind Rooney and that would be pushing it.

To sum up if we were to play the European Cup final tomorrow I would start Danny Welbeck. If we were going into the last 10 minutes at 0-0 I would rather bring on Hernandez than Welbeck.

He has improved, definitely, reminds me of Andy Cole in that respect and hopefully he will improve as much as Coley did, which will make him so much more dangerous.I think you underestimate DW`s` movement overall, keep an eye out for it next time, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I think Welbeck is a good player and is capable of starting most games, you have Hernandez and Rooney as back up, but should replace Berbatov with a proven striker so that Welback and Hernandez have a quality player to work with and learn from. IMO of course.
