It's impossible to tell exactly, as the HMRC have the time of the payment down to a period of roughly five years, but it's unlikely.
5% of the net gain was £115,473. The first payment to Redknapp from Mandaric was $145,000. That's about $40,000 short, I think.
 
Its looking better for 'arry, clearly it isn't an open and shut case. If I were on the jury I'd ignore the evidence from the NOTW journo, he's probably already written his bullshit article to splash all over the front page. With his vested interest in 'Arry getting convicted, I'm surprised that he was allowed to give evidence at all.

My understanding of British law is that you have to have knowledge i.e if Mandric told Arry that tax had been paid if Arry believed him then he should be found not guilty. On the other hand, if Arry thought jeez, this dude has forgotten to deduct the tax, i'll stash it abroad and hope the problem goes away, he should be found guilty. This case reminded me, I've got an offshore account that i've forgotten to declare, its only got $10 in it and hasn't been used for years, it doesn't earn interest so there no tax liable but it is easy to forget. I hope they dont take me to court.

Harry allowed it to go to court, the amount of money involved in relative terms to him is fuk all, he'd have paid it if he thought he owed it out of court. When you argue with HMRC they just don't listen, so I'm not surprised he said "fuk it, I give up, I'll see you in court. I've been close to this action as self-employed myself, they really do have some thick jobsworth tossers working there, the last few years by far the worst.
 
Anybody who runs their own business will tell you about their run ins with the Revenue. We all find ourselves as unpaid tax collectors and despite the fact that we generate huge sums for the tax man we are treated as a matter of course like criminals. In the eyes of the Revenue we are always guilty and it is our job to prove our innocence.

HMRC - guilty until able to prove your innocence, invariable at great expense, be it in time or money.

It's just been announced on SSN. It was like listening to a penalty shootout.

On the first charge Milan Mandaric is not guilty...

And Harry Redknapp has now also been found not guilty...

On the second charge of tax evasion... etc
