That's better news really, he should be able to recover from this in the same manner as last time around.

The crappy thing is that he was playing really well for Wolves before this.

Exactly, the ligament can be reconstructed in exactly the same way with no bearing on the previous injury, the only risk is that these injuries tend to take a toll on the cartilage if they are repeated again and again. Much better news for you in terms of his future proneness to injury.

Agreed <ok> I think he's got time on his side too, so as long as he recovers properly from this, then it's an injury that he should be able to put behind him in a couple of years. Much different from a 27-28 year old getting an ACL injury.

<laugh> I suppose they need to be blamed for something, seeing as he got injured playing for Wolves...

I don't think it has anything to do with being a combative midfielder, there are loads of them in the league and very few end up with ACLs, let alone 2. I just put it down to bad luck.

That boy just has no luck, a tremendous talent, hopefully he returns to full fitness as soon as possible. It could be a real hammer blow to his career at arsenal because this season and next were the years that he was meant to fully break into the first team, but with him now out for about 8 months after a previous yearly knee injury he will most certainly fall down the pecking order. Especially with song having the season of his life and coquelin impressing every time he plays, and with chuks aneke probably breaking into the team next year frimpong will find it hard to gain a starting place in the side.

I wouldn't discount his chances so early. I think that Wenger sees him as a future first teamer for us and that is for good reason. He has all the right attributes to make it, he just needed that season loan playing for Wolves to rough out the edges. He is still young and hopefully the knee injury will not impact his speed too much, or be persistent.

The few times i saw him play for us, he had that something special about him. He did a few bursting runs from midfield and boy did he look fast and powerful doing it. Its a big miss for him and us right now, but hopefully he'll be playing next year by Feb/March. It's just a shame as he could have been a regular come next season.....
