<laugh> Not that I've seen, but ask around in some of the locals in Mullion and you might bump into someone who's seen him.

Jay - he opened a book on stats - which said 'you can make stats assert any goddam untruth you like, just sound convincing.'.

And are you saying it isn't statistically more likely that a different manager will have a worse record? What do you base that on?

I forgot, you dont base your arguments on fact or past performance.

AW inheritted a great back line, the rest of the squad was average - there's a reason we finished 10th and 12th with them !
Glenn Helder, Pat Lydersen, Chris Kiwomya, Eddie McGoldrick plus a few others wouldn't have got close to the squads of most premier league clubs - it was the back line and Ian Wright that gave us any respect.
Bruce Rioch secured the signings of Dennis Bergkamp and David Platt (not that Platty was ever that great for us) then AW weaved his magic with a series of top quality aditions

Toledo you insisted that a new manager could not 'statistically' do better in the LEAGUE.
Explain - we are fascinated with this inside knowledge of statistics.
Why do Chairmen replace their managers - when statistically a new guy will do worse?

    Did he mean "footballistically" ?

Wenger said to the Belgian press that "AT EVERY SEASON START, Arsenal must imperatively make a profit of between £15m and £20m." What the hell does that mean.

Jay - I think the chance, statistically, of getting any sort of coherent statement on the subject is zilch.
    Shall we move on?

[QUOTE but believe Wenger in his mind feels he has a squad/team good enough to give the afore-mentioned billionaire clubs a good run for their money! Wenger has never come out and said he wants some of the money spent at city, he is always content to work with he has...... So to come here and say/insinuate we have not done well because we do not have money is just defeatist. We might as well give the money clubs the title season in season out, whilst the rest of us fight for the scraps![/QUOTE]

Sorry, but that's the way it's been since the EPL started and you used to be one of "the money clubs" but you have been overtaken, I'm a City fan and we have benefited from our new owner, your owners take a different view. Would utd have had all the success without being the richest club, I doubt it. It would be great to have a level playing field, but that would have to include the Wigan's and Bolton's etc and I don't see that happening, it's the world we live in! even Spurs, although they claim otherwise, have always been among the top spenders so they may win something one day!

In order to prove that I was talking rubbish you would need to disprove my statement.

All I said was that making a definitive statement such as saying that Arsenal would win 4 out of 8 was not something that a statistition would say because it had an element of certainty no statistition would claim. My statement was far more moderate and as you well know was based on an opinion. It is your wild statement that shows a lack of knowledge about statistics, not my more moderate statement.

You are using an argumentitive tactic to distract the reader away from the obvious statistical conclusion that can be drawn from the data.

The FACT is you have no logical ground to challenge the statement so you go after me personally. That is why, quite rightly, you get banned from the forum on occasion.

I just did, very reasonably, explain it to you again. That I was challanging your statement that our record over the first 8 years showed we would win the title four times in the next 8 years. Once again you respond by making a personal attack on me..

You have absolutely no need, or grounds to do this. You have shown nothing clearly and you are simply being insulting and personal.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there are at least 15 games to go! Final League positions are not decided yet!

I would have thought you would just keep quiet seeing it was your "daft big-head" comment that started this.
