Stolen, like a theif in the night from a forum not so long ago, in a galaxy somewhere far, far away....... Gareth Bale VS Cristiano Ronaldo! http://twitter.com/#!/search/thfc/slideshow/photos?url=http://lockerz.com/s/181354128 I'm both shocked and surprised to be quite frank, considering the 24 game "Curse of Gareth Bale", where he was not on the winning team for spurs till game number 25, and the fact he started as a left back and Cristiano was surrounded by all the staff and players at utd's disposal.... the facts though, speak for themselves!
"How many games did it take Ronaldo to first dive with no contact" ---- With no statistical analysis to back this up i'd say around 5minutes? "then push his opponent for calling him out on it?" ---- Never because he always got away with it!
--------- In all honesty I think Gareth has done his maturing/Filling out/getting up to speed etc etc.... I can't see his performances going up a gear again in the way CR's did. We can utilise him better than we did last night though.
Seeing as we're talking about stats. How many games did it take Ronaldo to: Racially abuse an opposition player? Swear at an opposition crowd? Kick a fellow player in the midriff?
Great stats but if you think about them a little you quickly realise that they are massively skewed in Bale's favour. Bale was brought up in British football and trained accordingly for a number of years, and was well adjusted to the country before making a premiership appearance. Ronaldo was brought over here not speaking the language and having grown up in an entirely different footballing and indeed lifestyle culture, it's not surprising that his stats are unremarkable for his early period.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a hell of a player. I don't think Bale will ever be as good as him but imho only Messi comes close. If Bale goes to Barcelona then we will can truly compare those two.
