I am 100% for the FA in their decision to oust Terry as captain of the football team. There are bigger issues at stake than just the team or the tactics to be used at Finals. I totally disagree with Ferguson who said that Capello was right to say that he was against the FA's decision. The manager is NOT the most important person in team England. Capello is not the manager of a club here. I believe that Capello should have aired his differences with his employers behind closed doors and not made his disagreement public. What sort of backing is this for the new captain?
SAF was asked his opinion and gave it. Personally Capello should have removed Terry as soon as the allegations were made, not because he was guilty but because in many walks of life, people are given 'gardening leave' while an investigation proceeds. However SAF has said: 'There's nothing wrong with having an opinion. I think what will happen in the next few days is there will have to be a coming together of the FA hierarchy and Fabio Capello because he's the team manager, he has the importance of that position. Without question the most important person at a football club is the manager.' All he has said is Capello has the right to question the FA's decision as it is in SAF's opinion a slap for the authority of the manager. SAF believes that the manager should be the top dog in any team, whether it be club football or international. Team selections and decisions rest with the manager, not the suits.
yes, Capello should have taken the captaincy off Terry as soon as the allegations were made and an investigation was started. But Cappello seemed to have "disengaged" and not dealt with the problems. He is now shooting his mouth off. He is repeating the same mistakes as Dalglish the muppet. Supporting the player and then be deservedly humiliated when the verdict comes back.
