Stick, the only problem I have with the 4.15 is that a good few of these don't really have sires that have proven records at Southwell. Too many with very limited runners on the surface. Its an interesting race for sure. Even if its very moderate!
Yours drifteth like the veritable barge this morning Stick, due in the main by the look of it to the gamble that's going on with Emirates Jack. Looking like a bit of a plot for his new yard?
Morning All not much on at work again today as we await potential announcement about whether we still have jobs or not, so have looked at the cards. SOUTHWELL 1.15 Mustajed 1.45 Laura Land 2.15 Magilini 2.45 Argentine 3.15 Aqua Ardens 3.45 Joe Le Taxi 4.15 JJ Leary 4.45 Unex Picasso WOLVES 2.00 Suddenly Susan 2.30 Windygaul Lad 3.00 Pipers Piping 3.30 Macy Anne 4.00 Bold Adventure 4.30 Complex not betting again today so good luck to anyone who does
Have been looking at Sticks 16:15, shocker. The only thing that caught my eye was the heavy support last time out for the Spencer ride J J Leary. 6-1 into 5-2, it probably needed the run. Must be showing something.
Cyc THE BHA'S call for jumps tracks who are able to race on Saturday to come forward has reaped rewards with Musselburgh set to stage an additional fixture that day. Musselburgh were set to host their richest ever jumps fixture last Sunday but it was called off as parts of the track were frozen. John Smith's Scottish Cheltenham Trials will now be staged this Saturday with the first race off at 1.30pm. The track's general manager Bill Farnsworth said: "It is a great example of the industry pulling together. We are finalizing details but it should be a £75,000 card again and we are hoping to stage the Scottish County Hurdle Trial at £20,000 again. "We only missed Sunday's card by a couple of hours and the forecast is for +2 overnight and 9C during the day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday." Nicky Henderson was among the high-profile trainers due to have runners at Musselburgh on Sunday, when his squad of five included potential Cheltenham Festival contenders Keys and Lyvius. The BHA could also announce plans for an all-weather bumpers-for-jumpers card at Kempton on Friday, should the track lose its jumps meeting slated for that day.
"Jumpers Bumpers" - I'd rather bet on 2 dogs having a ****ting competition Good move with Musselburgh though
One I've been told about today, which I'm afraid is taking on Stick in the 4.15, is called Clarkson. Was 25/1 but I think that's all dried up. edit, beaten to it by RV! Sorry mate, I've given it the kiss of death
Why when the great Stick picks a horse in a race do people feel the need to takes his selection on? Heres mine for the day, runs in the 4.15 SOUTHWELL BURNWYND SPIRIT 14/1 (EW) upped in distance despite struggling to get the 5/6f in the past. Suggests he may have been doing good things at home over further, the surface shouldnt be a problem as some of his best form is at Southwell
I dont mind being taken on. I usually have the last laugh! Looking at the market I am not so confident on this one now though. Good luck all
I've thrown a dart at Harrys yer Man in the Southwell opener - can't stand sand racing but a very dull day in teh office and couldn't be more bored, you never know a dart or two may land.....
