    YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

Mercedes have done the job, Silver Arrows shine again.
And who better to do it with than MSC.
By 3 tenths aswell, I am very happy, but still I need to reserve the fact that we really have to wait until Australia.

Half a second faster than any other driver at Catalunya in testing!

You must be in another world if you think posting the fastest time in all of testing in Catalunya after fitting an update and beating the Ferrari by 3, clear, tenths is not convincing.
No offence though, your opinions are valued.

What so Sauber are also SHINING because they topped testing yesterday. Pace means nothing at testing although I do envy you as a mclaren fan im worried about their car

I don't think Sauber made the fastest time in all of testing in Catalunya.

I don't follow testing all that enthusiastically as you can probably tell from my lack of posts on the threads, but am really hoping Schumi can challenge again this season, makes it so more exciting for me as an F1 fan. Fingers crossed we will see some good things in Australia!

I'm feeling upbeat about Mercedes performance. This is fantastic news for Nico Rosberg. The car suits him this year and given he was able to make it work in the slow corners last year this is a positive sign for more podiums and potentially even a win!

I disagree McWilliams, I think it suits MSC more this year. Wouldnt surprise me as Brawn obviously fancies him :D

    I didn't say it didn't suit MSC.

I think they said last year, the car will be suited more to Schuey. It would make sense as they know how to work together etc

I'm deeply offended, how dare a team I don't really support do well ;)
I'd like to see Schuy challenge, but Merc just don't do it for me.

And what makes you think that means it won't be suited to Rosberg? What is Rosberg's driving style?

Or is your F1 knowledge limited to Brawn loves Schumacher and Fred hates Hamilton?

I just said it will be suited more to Schuey, Schuey prefers oversteer while Rosberg prefers understeer. And I dont hate him, just dont like his fans.

Schumacher has said he wont win in the first few races Manny, check the BBC F1 website saturday news

No Rosberg does not like understeer. For one, it's really bloody obvious just from watching him drive that he does not prefer understeer - secondly if you removed your head from Alonso's backside and actually read reports that don't centre around your favourites you'll see he has on numerous occasions said that he prefers oversteer and that what suits Schumacher will suit him

Really Fred if you are going to come on here and make statements at least have the decency to know what you are talking about.

“We’ve made a significant step. Until now we found that the driving styles are similar and our comments fall into similar areas. I don’t think that there is too much difference. We suffered from too much understeer (in Spain) and it’s one of my weaknesses, I have difficulties coping with an understeer car. This weekend Michael has coped with it better than me.” Rosberg

“What helps us in developing the car is that we have pretty similar requests, ” Schumacher.

    Q. The impression being given by the press is that next year's Mercedes is being designed to suit Michael?
NR: In reality you can't build a car around a certain driver. If the car generally has understeer and they build in something to make it have less understeer then it's going to suit me as much as Michael. Why would the team do that? We drive similarly so you couldn't do it anyway.

I think Michael has the upper hand on his fellow statesman Nico.
It's just my gut feeling that Michael will be tearing up the tracks in the 2011 season, Nico will do well he came third , they were probably on the same set-ups yesterday.
Just because Nico beat Michael last year, does not influence the idea of him doing it again, when Michael gets fed up of being beaten he does everything, and I mean everything to turn the tide the other way, and I think he has already done it.

I admire your optimism manny but your feeling are actually your desires rather than having any foundation.

    Manny,

I had a lot of hope for Mercedes and Schumacher before pre season testing, but after the first Barcelona test I lost hope. You remained optimistic and now Mercedes are looking very good - at least 3rd fastest imo.

That lap from Schumacher was simply skills. No one got close to it, but it's possible that Mercedes did some glory runs because of their poor performance in the previous tests. It doesn't really matter, because that lap time proved that Mercedes are competitive.
