The breaking news here this morning is not about Watford or any other football related item. "Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador received a two-year suspension and has been stripped of his 2010 Tour de France title after failing a doping test, the Spanish Cycling Federation said. He will be allowed to resume competition in August 2012." At least it was his own federation that came to the decision, so now he cannot complain for a change.
No way- Mrs GG hates them in the house, they get in the way. I had four in once over Christmas. Not a popular move!
M.le Mayor has been round with his tractor and snow clearing bucket strapped on and cleared the village roads. I wonder if it is essential for the holder of the post to have such equipment?
If anyone ever sees a J-reg car (eg J12345) on a motorway, be very careful. It's a Jersey registered car and our biggest road is a dual carriageway that has a 40mph speed limit, the average person who learns to drive on Jersey has very little experience with motorways. The number plates of the other CI: Guernsey have just numbers (they can't use G as Gibraltar got there first) and Alderney plates begin with AY. The other islands are too small.
I have just found this on the Iplayer. I watched a similar show about a year ago whilst away with Kiri in York and we both really liked it. Hopefully this will be just as good. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00vs4yv/The_Making_of_Elton_John_Madman_Across_the_Water/
It's not OFH, just a sign of people 'abusing' their positions. Someone has to do it and there will be money made available for it, so he 'volunteers' himself. Strangely all the roads around the Mayor's fields in my village were perfectly gravelled and fixed, whereas others were left to disrepair. There were also quite a lot of the commune's property/buildings that were sold to his in-laws, surprisingly for quite cheap too...
No doubt that will be an excuse to get Lance Armstrong's samples out of storage and test them again....
Afternoon guys and gals. I have updated the future posting thread till the end of the season. Hopefully SLB will be back soon to see the end of the season and present the trophy to the winner.
Afternoon all I've been a very good girl today, i've been studying...i'm nearly half way through, though i don't know it brilliantly well, but it's coming along, and i still have a little under two weeks to get it right,s o i'm feeling quite positive...of course, i'll be panicking nearer the time, that's what i do! lol. Just ignore me Thanks for the caramel latte Ak this is great news GG! I'm so glad that things seem to be improving, and that you might even make some sort of a footie match sooner rather than later. so happy for you )) No, they don't get it at all! I agree with you. I give motorway lessons but it amazes me how many women of my age won't drive on motorways...weird! thanks Dan
Lots of officials were worried that tonight between 18.00 and 20.00 there would not be enough electricity to go round. Street advertising signs were shut down, in some places street lighting was re-programmed to come on later, and we were all asked to be careful about how we used our appliances. Taking my civic responsibilities to heart, I did not have coffee after dinner tonight, instead went for an additional glass of wine.
very good of you M Frenchie! Our streetlights are supposed to go off at midnight these days, but i think the council have forgotten to flick the switch down my road...good thing too!
Evening all my standalone broadband access is not working at work, apparently someone forgot to pay the bill Just how stupid is that, they don't know when it will be back on either So I have not had a chance to read the boards today
aw poop! Thankfully not too much to read back tonight Al, though the article about the Academy on the short news thread is worth a gander
Morning All, Bright and sunny here, but blooming cold. -15C outside at present. The marie where we go to have our French lessons is closed because of the snow and ice so I don't have to make the decision about trying to go there or not. Hot coffee please ak, then I must get the wood burner cleaned out and fresh wood supplies in. I am very glad to have installed a proper heating system a couple of years ago as we would have suffered without it.
Góðan daginn til allra. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar. Is 6C here and dry. Do you not like a situation where a old manager and new one come together to ask about something that happened before you were involved and the new manager who was running the project has shoulders more slipery than an ice sheet points the naughty finger at you?
