Compare it with the Liverpool bench - Subs: Doni, Aurelio, Suarez, Henderson, Coates, Downing, Carragher. Let's just say it seems pretty damn obvious whose bench is stronger
The first XI is fine - pretty strong line-up and it's great we've been able to still field a team that suits our natural playstyle. But that bench - damn...
There were reports about some of our players begging to be given loans on deadline day. Redknapp should've told them it was too late. It looks like our poor transfer window might be coming back to haunt us.
Maybe he might now grace me with a response to my question as to what happened to my original account Sorry to disappoint you but I won't be holding me breath.
Pienaar would've been good tonight - oh wait Bassong might've been decent backup if Dawson/King get injured - oh wait
Well if we win tonight,it really will be an exceptional result, looking at our injury list/non participants.
The concerning thing is that VdV, Lennon, Defoe, Sandro etc aren't even on the bench - hope none of them are out for any lengthy period of time.
Scotty and Jake should provide an ideal foil for our defense- if they can dominate the midfield battle, Benny & Walker will be able to exploit the wings and join attacks. I'm happy we've got 2 holding mids in there as- ever since the win at AC Milan, I've been a firm believer that our system is better suited to 2 holding mids for tricky away games. Need Bale & Modders to be on TOP form tonight, as I don't think Pool have a single player fit to lick their boots. They are our 2 'class above' players this evening...
No RB if Walker gets a knock too, without Kaboul who could play there,we really don't want any injuries.
Me? Never --------------------- I'm all good for players to go out on loan - but not if it leaves us short in places. Yes Kaboul can play RB but he's not a true RB - now we're 1 injury away from having no RB at all. And yes, I completely see how Corluka has been frustrated this season (perhaps he should've played more) - but now we're potentially seeing the other side of sending our players away to get playing time.
