Pienaar trying to unsettle Modric?

I think money's important to him, Pat. I just don't believe it's his sole motivating force. Unlike some players I could mention!

 

This 'interview' is probably the most noteworthy thing Pienaar has done since at spurs.

And what gives you grounds for suspicion that he won't want to move?

 

He wanted a move to Chelsea, has he got that?

Like Harry said, a lot of players would find it hard to reject a move where they could triple their wages. I think CL's football or not Modric will once again ask to move.

I could be wrong though and hope I am.

 

So I guess that challenge has been ignored.

A simple question for a simple person; "can you provide a substituentable and verifiable link to anywhere Modric has stated that he wants to go to Chelsea?"

Surely it's not hard for a even really stupid person to answer, the answer is yes or no - if the former then do so, if the latter that retract your comment and go back to the hole from which you crawled out of.

Link = credibility, no link = ridicule.

I think it's reasonable to assume that Levy and Modric really do have an agreement now. We can all speculate on what it contains whether it requires CL football, a new contract or whatever to keep him. What is certain though is that if the interested club isn't willing to start their bidding at £40mill+, then it's irrelevent because Levy will not sell.

 

A player may not be able to be sold at the moment Lidls, but he can still have his head turned and his season disrupted.

 

I hate to agree with Luke, YET again. But, he's right. There will be tempting offers made to the likes of Modric, Bale, and probably, a few others. It will be incumbant on Levy & co. To back up their words with actions that demonstrate to these players why they should stay. At this very moment, it's not relevant.Nobody is going anywhere.
But, let's be realistic, come the summer the siege will begin.

 

Clubs that might prove attractive to the likes of Modric or Bale

Manchester United (proven track record of success and able to afford them)
Mancheater Pity ( able to afford them)
Barcelona (able to afford them and have them on the bench)
Anzhi Makhachkala (who?)

Clubs that wouldn't be attractive to Modric or Bale

Fulham's junior club (why go backwards?)
Arsenal (why go down a league?)

So - Spurs it is then.
