Liverpool game tonight - quick-fire poll

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Feb 6, 2012.

?

How do you think we will perform tonight against Liverpool?

  1. We'll win this one comfortably, since we have far too much for LFC

  2. Quietly confident that we'll scrape the win, but they'll put up a fight

  3. This has "draw" written all over it, although we'll give a good account of ourselves

  4. Liverpool have hit some form with Bellamy, and he'll be the difference for them to win

  5. Let's face it, we'll play pretty football, but we'll still get absolutely hammered

  6. We'll get hammered and be made to look like fools

  1. Just want to test the ground among the faithful, ahead of tonight's crunch game.

To my mind, we are the in-form team and should win this encounter at a trot, but this being football, anything could happen.

The natural pessimism of most of you will probably tend to encourage you to err on the side of caution, but do try to look at it logically, rather than emotionally.

By contrast, I am always trying to stop my natural optimism running away from me, so as to shield me from the crushing weight of disappointment. Nonetheless, I am confident we will win tonight, and move two points closer to United.

I think we're the better team and should win. Liverpool away is always going to be a difficult game and shouldn't be underestimated but I think they'll need a bit of luck to beat us.

Kaboul out, Lennon a doubt and VDV still a doubt apparently.

I can't rate us as favourites with 3 key players out (Lennon is usually quite effective against Liverpool).

Liverpool will be buoyed for this game with Suarez back, along with a fit Gerrard. The media seem to think because Carroll scored 1 goal against Wolves that he's now back to 100% form, which I disagree with but it might spur him on a bit nonetheless.

All said and done, a draw is the most likely result and it's one that, given our injuries to key players, I would now take.

Well I predicted a 2-1 win for us so I'll stick with that.

I have mixed feeling about Suarez coming back for this game.It could just play into our hands as he's not match fit,or ofcourse he could really come out firing.Either way should be a good game just a shame about Kaboul, that could really hurt us.

    Quietly confident.

Bale and Modric are really hitting top gear and in all fairness, no team in the country can contain them when on form and I think they'll prove too much in the end.

Had a bet of 2-1 Spurs with Modric first scorer. Picked up £225 from the Wigan game :D Had Bale first scorer and 3-1 for a fiver! Hoping my luck continues tonight!

Bellamy might be missing due to his knee problems, so if that's the case their in-form player of late won't be a factor. Also, you can't look past the Grand Wizard thinking he's proving a popint by playing Suarez, which could backfire horribly if he's marked out of the game and resorts to lashing out at opposition players and fans alike.

I haven't seen Suarez as much of an issue when he has played against us - it helps that he spends half the game on the floor though <whistle>

I reckon he'll be fired up for tonight's game and could be more influential than he was prior to his ban.

I really really really hope Bellamy doesn't play - he's been excellent these past few weeks and his movement could cause us problems.

Jamie Carragher has scored as many Premier League goals for Tottenham as he has for Liverpool in his career.

I think we'll lose, not specifically because of Bellamy, but a host of factors, including Kaboul's injury.

For me - in order from most to least likely I think it'll be: Draw, 'Pool win, Spurs win

Monday night at Anfield, Gerrard, Bellamy, Suarez - their fans and players will be up for the game especially after their good performances against the 2 Manchester sides - hell even Kuyt is playing well now. When you include our injuries, I can't see us getting a win tonight :(

I'd like to be proved wrong - and people can call me negative if they want but I'd rather be pessimistic and proved wrong :)

Mousefield is not an easy place to go, to get a result (a win). I would expect an open game, with us playing the better football. Liverpool will be more direct, they will not attemt to outplay us for the majority of the game IMO. However, we may have problems scoring because Defoe, Ade, VDV are all in doubt for tonights game. The betting is, there will be one goal difference in this game and it may well be in favour of Liverpool (I hope not). They will also be up for revenge, having been Royally stuffed at the Lane earlier this season.
Now if Saha is picked and gets of to a flyer.. anything could happen.

  18. It'll be great for Saha to get his first goal for us at Klanfield against the Mousers.

For a start, they've been having a laugh that we dared to sign him. It would be poetic justice if our £0 man scored and their £30 million man still can't <ok>
