Can't judge Sunderland game, but we weren't that good yesterday and Villa probably deserved to win, so no surprise there. Would have expected McClean's match winning performance to be recognised though.

Ridiculous that the Man Utd team which conceded 3 goals against Chelsea in under an hour has two of its defensive players in his team of the week <doh>

McClean, Guthrie and Cisse deserve a shout. Stupid fat prick, hated BBC enough.

This only one I agreed with was Rooney, he did deserve to be in team.

If Cisse had been Manure's, Citeh's, Spuds, Chelskis, Arsenal's or Liverpool's new 10mill striker, he'd have been in there first name on the sheet.

Cissé didn't deserve to be in there, Guthrie and McClean did though.

No none of the top 6 are based in the North East.

    Who is in the team?

Have to say I don't think McClean had a particularly outstanding game - nobody could in those conditions! For Newcastle, agree with earlier poster that they didn't really play that well either. Great goals by Cleaner and Cisse but United were awesome 2nd half so I'd expect Giggs, Rooney and Maybe Valencia in there ahead of any of ours.

I thought the Mags keeper should have been in there as he made some great stops, particularly in the first half...

I don't understand how Evra got in, considering that he was partly at fault for the first goal, and conceded the foul for the third goal. I don't get it. He seemed pretty poor.

To be honest, no Sunderland player deserved it. Guthrie deserved to get in, though

100% go along with this statement.

In fairness to Crooks, though, he has been including some of ours lately - 2 in one week recently? Not that that's a good thing, necessarily.

Krul was the only one I could put forward. Guthrie was class but so was Giggs to be fair. Indeed all the players Crooks chose in the front line and midfield I could understand. But I assume that you kept a clean one away at Stoke, you must have had a defender playing centre half who played well? Ferdinand played ok but his team conceded 3 at the end of the day. Evra was solely at fault for the first goal and shouldn't have been mentioned.

While were on the subject of Crooks, does anyone know how Harry's case is going?

Got to say I think I watched a different Guthrie to everyone else yesterday, I thought he has had better games recently. Was impressed with Cisse though not enough to be in a team of the week when players like Van Persie got 3 in a 7-1 win and Rooney scored 2 (yes I know they were both penalties) and inspired a brilliant comeback for Man Utd.
