Today's racing comes from Ayr over the sticks and Wolves on the flat.

It's currently -22°C here on the outskirts of Berlin, that's colder than the inside of your freezer - painful <yikes>

Let's be having your fancies

2.20 for me is a very interesting race, with a few in the field that I think its fair to say - "Don't win very often"

Canadian Danehill will probably be short in the market, he has recent form but he keeps finding a way to be beaten. Argentine is one that I think is better at Southwell, and he was beaten off a lower mark on this surface three runs ago, he could easily win the race but I think conditions aren't to his advantage.

The rest of the field do not have as strong form in the book in recent times, but I do think that Decider is better than he has been showing. He ran too freely in the first time visor on his penultimate start, before running a decent race last time out at Kempton when he was ridden more patiently.

Today I think conditions are perfect, and if he was drawn lower I would be having a good dabble on him. He drops back into a 0-60 for the first time in a while and with the claimer on he isn't carrying masses of weight (the lad can ride too in my opinion). I wonder if they will sit right on the pace today. I hope they do. 30/70 win/place stake

Heis, think he will be taken on for the lead. He is also rather unpredictable which is a worry. Its a good little sprint handicap, with horses like Grand Stitch showing more than their form suggests on the book.

My top three were

Decider
Grand Stitch
Argentine

Morning all,

My NAP for today:

5:00 Wolve - Just Timmy Marcus.

Very encouraging run last time when given a lot to do. 9 lb below last winning mark. Trainer in great form. Weighted to and form to beat Bentley. Favourite Valley Tiger a danger but carries a penalty. I hope my fella will have too much for him!!

2:20 Wolve like you guys say an interesting race and I had a long look. Money last night for Dorothy Dancing but if you like this then you have to like Overwhelm to on last run form and weight figures. Race could be set up nicely for one of them though. I got it down to Grand Stitch (big if that hope not taken on for the lead too early) and Candian Danehill but it doesn't seem to know how to win!! Small stakes race for me.

Good luck all on your bets today.

At Ayr today i like

1:30 Mae's Choice win but very short
2:00 tough old race and value for EW gone with only 7 runners and market leaders 15/8 and Evens but if i do bet it will be on Becausewecan at 6s and will run better today
2:35 3 horse race !!!!!!!! lie forrit at 8/13 ??? may double it with the 1st race
3:10 would like to see Glee breal Mighty Magnus duck and at 6s is decent price but again only 5 runners so no EW value, will plump for Proud Times and hopefully the start of Hughseys Double
3:40 Posh Bird
4:15 wide open race will prob wait and see what the markets brings but think Crooksy could have a gamble going on with Along Came Rosie top weight but 10lb claimer on will go EW here i think
4:45 another open race and as long as 9 stay in im EW on glee's mount for goldie Youlookinathim

Stay frosty

Morning, all. ‘No bet’ from me today but must say that it is nice to see an appearance from the ‘rarely spotted NH fixture’ this afternoon. Both of tomorrow’s cards over the sticks have already been called though so it will be at least another 48 hours until we see another...

Meanwhile, Baby Run out for the season I see. Was joint-fav for the old Foxhunters at the Festival. Interestingly re that race if the current cold spell continues a lot of beasts aren’t going to be able to get themselves qualified for the heat. Something to bear in mind that, methinks.

They will change the regulations if the snap carries on much longer Barney.

In regards Baby Run, it seems they want to go down the Grand National route next year. Interesting I would suggest.

He will take all the beating in the XC race. He looks a natural over the fences. Very smooth round again yesterday.

I was a bit worried Patrick was going to get done for over-confidence but a quick shake of the reins after the last saw him pick up really well. I thought Garde Champetre ran a cracker as well but difficult to see him reversing the form

Not tipping him for the X-Country race (although he’s always been an old fave of mine) but I note that Chamirey (who finished 2nd in the December Cheltenham X-Country heat) is now back with his former trainer, Don McCain, after a spell with Enda Bolger. Eyecatching that he has decided to buy him back (now owns him as well if the RP database is correct).

Morning All.
Interesting race that XC yesterday, for Scotsirish to be 7/2 having only raced once over the banks course I thought was wrong especially with his possible suspect stamina, that said he travelled very well and would have won alot more comfortably had he not got very close to the last so probably made harder work of it than it should have been.
However, Garde Champetre made a mistake 4 or 5 out and had Nina almost out the side door so maybe that one despite his advancing years would have been closer, and of course the race was over 3m, not the 3m 7f he'll encounter at Cheltenham.
Go back to the race in December when they all took the wrong course and Scotsirish was just being asked for an effort when they went the wrong way, he was upsides A New Story at the time and they were both travelling as well as each other so he was no certainty to win that day (and A New Story is now what 14 ?).
At 3/1 I think he's one of the more vulnerable favs - Maljimar still interests me at 10s if he definitely goes....
