In theory, but the payments from the Champions League are used to service the debt. Perhaps winning it or even getting to the latter stages may have released some funds for players. But your recent Champions League pedigree shows you may have difficulty reaching the latter stages. That's even if you qualify at all, Giggs and Scholes can't go on forever. Ferdinand, Evra, Vidic and co ain't no spring chickens either. Worrying times ahead for the United 'faithful.'

Straight from the "How to obsessively discredit Man Utd" handbook. Whereby it reads "repeat the idea that Uniteds team is in ageing decline without hope of replacing outgoing players or improving single season, it has to become true one year"

Similar philosophy to the "How to have blind confidence in LFC" handbook. Repeat "Next year is our year" year after year, it has to become true one year" and "Players will run through brick walls for Kenny"

A bit dissappointed you didn't hammer the ski's like I asked last friday.

    three areas of controversy;

    1. The ref

Still I have to admit you lot do have a great player there.... How did howard webb not book young for two really bad chaleenges plus 2 others that I felt he could have gotten yellow for... good for you guys to have young (and webb) back for the run in.

    2. no moral highground for the internet warrior's wearing blue

I'm laughing heartily as the racist high moral gorund that london'sfinest and others took then promptly decided to boo rio ferdinand... of course the decibels were a lot less than atanfield but then they are the plastic blues and don't know how to cheer or make any noise.. I expect your lot to do a bit better next weekend. Once you boo and chant stuff about suarez's sister then oh i suppose the spurs away fans will get into the act and knock spots off their own fake moral indignant attidutes tonight as well..... <laugh> I have to say the internet warrors are very funny.

I think there's be a lot of baiting going on tonight. Redknapp will get some slagging i can tell you.... and i expect thier away fans to respond with the race card, cos thats what you do (innit) when your manager is being slagged off for tax evasion.. triffic...

    3. Torres

<laugh> how bad is he? never got his shot off when in red he'd have buired that one i nthe second half without thinking. Karma bites (innit)

All in all a good weekend of sport with one more big game to come tonight. nice!

So out of interest how does Liverpool plan to buy players (and kep in the FFP)?
Low income (compared to UTD), not in Europe, Kenny buys rubbish and pays way over the odds for them, 6-7th league position at best.
Very worrying times ahead for Liverpool.

Lol, are you actually being serious? I was joking - do you seriously believe that paid professional referees even care what the managers spout off about them? <laugh>

Don't forget Big Time, but then he only gets a free kick for his flops...

Where've I heard that before? Oh yeah, it was August 2005. Remind me how that decline worked out again?

Guess he wanted to be consistent. After all, he could've sent Cahill, Ivanovic and Young off, but there were no really malicious challenges so he was probably happy to keep the cards stashed.

Just the thought of internet warriors trying to gain the moral high ground makes me laugh <laugh> But I have to admit some of the chavs outdid themselves with their prematurity yesterday... <ok>

    Predictions for tonight anyone?

We adapted to that a long time ago. See we're not so arrogant as to think we're going to win every competition every year. We are willing to sacrifice some seasons in favour of rebuilding for long term success. Maybe if your lot could do the same you would've won a league title at some point in the last 22 years <ok>

Morning children. You've been busry bickering away over the weekend and it appears to be continuing. What's happened to all the good-natured banter. As usual, I'm away for the weekemd and it all degenerates.

Anyway. 4 penalties in two games and Howard Webb for the second of those games. You couldn't make it up. However, a draw is exactly what I wanted from this match <ok>

SKY + HD. You pick the phone up, dial the number and press the green button. It's quite simple really.

Swarbs. YOu up for the Bridge Bar next Saturday?

Yea, in the past maybe, the days of 'long term success are over. United are like a proud boxer on the ropes, they will be knocked down soon, despite the defiance, and when they are, there will will be broken. Fergie will lose his spark, and that will be the end of that.

There'll be a game of football played involving 20 men running around lots and 2 leaping and diving about catching balls. One man in yellow with black shorts will get earache, two blokes on the sidelines will yell quite a lot and gesticulate wildly at times.

Any alien race watching from about will conclude that there is no intelligent life here and move on...

"Wayne Rooney claimed Manchester United's stunning late comeback at Chelsea could have yielded the unlikely point that wins them the Premier League title."

Chelsea are not title challengers so why does getting a point from them matter more than dropping 3 to Blackburn?

yeah... a draw was what we hoped for too at my house (snigger)

we had a googd day if i'm honest cheering on ba to score (i dropped aguero for him in FF) then delighted when newkie conceeded (again two newkie DFs in my main rivals team)

then the icing was on the cake when utd were trhashed to the point we started cheering them and webb on. I want the chavs to go down the toilet this year following the absolute racist rubbish coming out of their fans arseholes on this forum... Its back to the once RA gets tired of his play thing attitude for me here... I can't see them coming back from no cl football.

Charlie Adam red card if he starts. And a 2-1 liverpool win regardless.

Well done UTD on your come back yesterday, great result for everybody.

Also RIP the Munich Victims & survivors, sad day for football fans everywhere.
