Of the top 10 on that list Lee Clark, Roberto Di Matteo, Paul Lambert, Keith Hill, Bill Davies and Karl Robinson would all be a step up. I wouldn't mind David O'Leary but i can see a lot of controversy there
Lee Clark - Young manager like Grayson. Clark hasn't done anything and is unproven at all levels not a good choice to work under Bates and certainly cant imagine how he would get any better out of what we have. Neil Warnock - As a person I don't like him but as a manager at this level you can't fault him, if anyone can get more out of the team he can. Di Matteo - Thought he had ruled himself out, can't see him getting more out of the players, can't see him getting anything out of Bates and can't see him coping Paul Lambert - Amazed he is on the list why would he leave Norwich? Yes I think he would be another that would get more out of what we have but can't see a cat in hells chance of him leaving Norwich. Steve Bruce - I can't think of many worse apart other ex scum managers, not because I dislike them, they have all proven to be useless when it comes to management. Neil Redfearn - Would show Bates lacks real ambition but would prefer him over the likes of Clark, Bruce, keane and Ince who have been mentioned. Keith Hill - I see him as worth a bet, 2 playoff finals one automatic promotion used to working on a budget, he would be my third choice behind Lambert and Warnock
My order would be 1) Paul lambert (But that'd never happen so no point of even having him on the list) 2) Lee Clark 3) Keith Hill
I would worry that he hasn't seen enough of the English game yet alone the teams and players in the Championship. It might be different if he had cash to spend and a transfer window to spend it in but he hasn't. I would prefer Warnock or Lambert but I know we haven't a chance on Lambert and find it strange that he is in the running (as far as bookies are concerned). No to Antic UNLESS it was instead of Shearer, Bruce, Keane, Wilkins, Ince and a few of the other silly names I have seen thrown around.
