Just stopped snowing now, we have had about 8-9" this morning. The meteo believe that temperatures will hit positive numbers a week on Monday. <yikes>

I have switched to Scottish Power BB, but still use BG for the maintenance - it's a bit of a drive for the engineer to get down from Gretna to Bandit Country!! Not sure how the gas is more reliable though?

Drat, drat and double drat - usual engineer did not turn up so the Watford mug did not get used! But the heating is blasting away and the Dacha is gradually warming up!

The only fall from the sky we had was of the wet stuff, not the white stuff. It's cold and dry now and eldest has just left to go to Scout young leader training.

Nice meeting up with H and Dan yesterday at the game;) H, you have lost more weight from the last time we met, less than 2 months ago. It really shows on your face, you must digress your secrets;)

Problem with diets is having to give up the drink...I have to really get myself set-up for that sacrifice!

I always fancied going on the Atkinson diet - but without the racism!!!

    <laugh>!

too true w_y, the beauty of this diet is that i can have a glass of wine a night..sadly though, i can't save them up and have them all in one go, so it doesn't seem worth it! lol

I prefer the sensible helping of everything you like diet...with occasional seconds if no-one else is going to finish it! I also give up the drink...sometimes for hours at a time! Mrs H thinks it unfair I was born thin and, with the help of exercise, seem destined to stay that way.

No problem H, I wondered why it was a bit quiet in the bar - obviously many were opting for a hot drink instead of a beer! They cancelled the MOM presentation after the game because of the impending snow - probably JE wanted to make sure he got back home to Brum...

I think that was the thing...everyone was buying soup. I think most people now know not to go near the hot chocolate because the only correct part of it's name is 'hot'...the 'chocolate' bit goes against trading standards. When is the MOM presentation usually? I've never noticed it! lol

H - They do the MOM presentation in The Club Lounge where the Legends session is. Whoever sponsors the game chooses the MOM and presents the award and has their photo taken with the player. My mate was in the Legends yesterday and told me afterwards when we had a beer and watched the Rugby - Bruce Dyer was the Legend yesterday.

Wales beat Ireland in Dublin with a last grasp penalty that seems controversial - but I don't think we will see the Irish coach gobbing off on the TV!

Why does Britain stop when you have some snow? I know you do not have very much but the television reports always seem surprised to have any.

it's truly pathetic Ak...but it's because, i think, we don't have the equipment to clear it, nor the money to spend on getting the roads ready for it, simply because for once or twice a year it's not worth the investment...i don't agree, coz i lose money every time it snows, but at least the council saves money ...<grr>

Ahem:emoticon-0112-wonde :emoticon-0145-shake, it is only the South East of England. Shock SNOW falls in WINTER time<yikes> In most parts of Scotland we can get snow as early as November right through to April, unfortunately or should I say fortunately this get little cover on the News channels and we just get on with it. The authorities at Heathrow should be shot, they knew it was coming and they were making excuses before one flake of snow fell<yikes> and they spent £50M on new equipment<laugh>
