Ok, so I have 2 really good mates, lets call them Max and Maxine (incase there is anyone I know on this site...) and have been in a relationship for years. Now as I was on my run just now I saw Maxine getting off with another guy. I know it was her as I stopped and she looked at me and looked shocked.

Now I know I should tell him what she has done but we're all really good friends and I wouldn't want to ruin that, so do I tell him, or let him find out for himself?

 

Whatever happens it'll be bad, tell him cause if he finds out that you knew and didn't tell him....... bad karma, have to choose one over the other I think.

Bribe them, and then invent a story about how you owe him money. Then if he finds u know tell him yeah I got you compo for it.

 

My instinct would tell me to instantly tell my friend, however, i'd personally do this:

I'd talk to the girlfriend, find out what was going on and how far she had been with this other bloke. I'd tell her that if she doesn't stop seeing the other bloke, you'll tell your mate the truth. I'd then have a long hard chat with her, asking her if she even liked your mate, and why would she cheat on him in the first place.

Overall, i'd say truth some times isn't the best form of loyalty and friendship. If he loves this girl, keep the truth from him, but get his girlfriend to stop cheating on him or going behind his back. Or get her to end the releationship before it all ends horribly.

There's no real win-win situation here mate.
Unfortunately if you tell him there's no way we can tell how he will react (best for you to judge in that regard) as he could end up thinking you're jealous and trying to break them up as he wont want to believe it or he could take it really well and be happy you've told him.
But if you don't tell him and he finds out and then finds out you knew about it he'll kick off big style.
Like Tash says, have a chat with her about it first (never thought I'd be agreeing with Tash ) and if you feel she's taken it too far and abusing your mate's trust, you're going to have to tell him.
I mean to give her the benefit of the doubt, it could have been a daft mistake and she let the situation get the better of her (not just that kiss, but like a guy coming onto her after being in a relationship for years that has hit a mundane patch and this guy is showing her attention) as these things can happen.

 

How about giving her the option of telling him, if she says no, then tell him.

In all honesty, now that she know's you know, she'll probably tell him herself. Guilty conscience.

 

Difficult one though mate. I know that if one of my mates saw my girlfriend getting with someone and they agreed not to tell me, I'd be pretty pissed off they kept it a secret. I'd want to know.
