Put simple, we're very bad when we play teams who keep possession, because we tend to give possession away more than most teams, and we won't get away with that vs you guys. If we play a long ball to Morrison, we might not get it back for 20 minutes.
Please let's spare a few thoughts for QPR, fans were wondering where they would get 20 points: Blackburn v QPR Sat 11 Feb QPR v Fulham Sat 25 Feb QPR v Everton Sat 3 Mar Bolton v QPR Sat 10 Mar Expect you to take maximum points against Bolton and Blackburn, draw with Fulham, lose against Everton; 7 pts QPR v Liverpool Sat 17 Mar Sunderland v QPR Sat 24 Mar QPR v Arsenal Sat 31 Mar Man Utd v QPR Sat 7 Apr QPR v Swansea Mon 9 Apr West Brom v QPR Sat 14 Apr QPR v Tottenham Sat 21 Apr Chelsea v QPR Sat 28 Apr QPR v Stoke Sat 5 May Man City v QPR Sun 13 May I expect you to win at all costs against West Brom, but I really feel sorry for you, this run of fixtures, see no points against Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Tottenham, Chelsea, Man City...while Sunderland are in devastating form atm, Swansea should have too much class for you and they are getting better each game, perhaps you might sneak a win against Stoke; 6 pts The writing is on the wall, there is no leeway for this "team must gel excuse" - for the new signings its a baptism of fire pure and simple, if you don't get at least 7 points in the next 4, as a neutral this run-in of 10 games is BRUTAL, you will be relegated
Only thing I would say here is that will put QPR on 34 points. I can't see Wigan getting another 18 points to match that. For Blackburn to get 16 points they HAVE to beat us, QPR and Wigan at home as well as picking up big victories at places like Swansea- they have a huge task. That leaves it between Wolves, Bolton and QPR for the third relegation spot. Bolton have the best run in of the three and Wolves is basically the same as QPR's. So yes, QPR are in trouble, but judging by MOTD (not wise I know!) when they had eleven on the pitch they looked good. The signings they've made are stupid money and I wouldn't have them for the world BUT, they are decent players. They've got at least as good a chance of staying up as Wolves, still. I can really see them only needing 35 points to stay up
4-2 Swansea. I am far more confident of an afternoons entertainment than I am getting a positive result. Won't be too gutted to lose to you guys as long as we lose well. I enjoy the mutual respect towards each other and the mutual dislike towards QPR. Both play football the right way but Swansea will be too much for us at their place. It's great to have a Welsh side in the premier league, long may we battle it out over those premier league points.
Why are we even talking about QPR on this thread? Give them a break and provide no fuel for them to accuse of being obsessed with them. They are having a crap time of it and are feeling pretty low, which is to be expected under the circumstances - cut them some slack. This is Swansea v Norwich, lets just focus on that and hope for a good game with good exchanges between the two sets of fans
Spot on Thai, leave them talk about how well we are playing rather than how silly their players are good luck for saturday hope all you canaries enjoy the trip, hell of a trek i done the reverse fixture this year and have to say brilliant atmosphere before & during the game even if we got done over big style. hope to return the hospitallity and the result (only fair). 2-0 the swans i feel / hope
Brendan Rodgers named PL manager of the month for January..........thats a win for the canaries then, if that doesn't put the kiss of death on them nothing will
I must admit, when I saw it had gone to BR I thought, "Thank goodness PL avoided that!" I think BR is a worthy winner of the award, also it has the "Leeds effect" on us!
I’m just hoping to be able to see this match in one of the local pubs – some of them have lost their ‘Sky’ signal for recent games. It’s a pity really that Sky didn’t see fit to make this one of their televised games, as I’m sure there would be a lot of interest from neutrals in this match. (Oh no, we lost when they televised it last year!!) Hopefully, Holt will have found a new pair of boots by then and not miss goalden the opportunities he had to score yesterday. A player who has really impressed me since his return to fitness has been Pilkington and he seems to get better each game. Also thought Bennett put in a really good shift at left back. Any news on when Vaughan and Tierney are due to start playing for the first team again??
I'm guessing that like Ward (until now...), with Vaughan, PL didn't feel he needed to rush him back into the squad- we already have three strikers playing well! As for Tierney, he was playing in the reserves, but hurt his groin again, so may be out for quite a bit of time. Winter is the worst time for those soft tissue injuries as they just don't recover. Real shame as we really need Tierney as I don't think Drury can manage 90 mins against the clubs that will put us under more pressure
......surely if you were sitting on the fence you would go for a draw? neither on one side or the other.
I'd be more optimistic if we had our first choice centre backs playing, so 3-1 swansea for me The midfield will need to perform well, maybe pick the same attacking line up as yesterday rather than being negative and trying to stop swans passing
......no wonder we beat bolton, they had already played arsenal earlier. didn't realise this. takes all the gloss off our performance.
I would have thought Max that we must at all cost STOP the swans from playing ! It was the more attacking line up that got swamped at Sunderland, 4-5-1 for me and hit them on the break. I think Wes needs to sit this one out for a harder midfield player, maybe bring him on in the last quarter if its all still level.
Not being defeatist but I would settle for losing by the odd goal of nine.Let's see if MOTD could put that on last.
