If the Villa did win at sid james and we did win in March at sid james, how many points behind would we be.

Oh well, like I say it wont happen, but what if it did?

Does what the great unwashed do really matter, this season in particular I'm only interested in our glorious team, but having said that, if we do finish the season above them I will be ecstatic, & what an achievement that will be for MON's reign. We started really badly, ended up in a relegation position, but we're now 8th, lets make sure we are good first

All other results remaining the same, you'd still be 3 points behind us ;)

I hope we are 3 points behind them before the derby, that would make it a real tasty one, considering our goal difference is a point start.

Sadly, I can't see them losing tomorrow, meaning even a win against Arsenal next week would see us 4 points behind.

    They'll win tomorrow IMO.

Would we like to see Bent to score the winner in the last minute?

I think i'd enjoy that immensely.

He'd still be a helmet though.

Unless he pulled his shirt up to reveal a FTM vest or similar, that might thaw me out towards the twat..

Well said syd, don't know why some mackems put up this false front of not caring how Newcastle do just because we are currently doing better in the league.

I'm ****ing desperate for a Villa result tomorrow, but I just can't see it.

Good win today for your lot, not long ago Stoke looked almost invincible at home but the past few months they've been vulnerable. Still a hard place to go though, and the type of result you didn't look like getting a couple of months ago. Can't say i'm too fussed about how close you are to us at the end of the season, hell you can have third if it meant we got fourth. Great to see both clubs fighting at the right end of the table and considering outside chances of europe - when was the last season we were both doing that?

O'Neil has been beyond anything i imagined he would be for your lot, he really seems to fit. Bruce always grated on me, I think the fact he always made a song and a dance about "finishing above Newcastle" was a bit strange. Its alright for the fans to go on about it but if Pardew came out at the end of the season and made a meal out of finishing above Sunderland I'd be disappointed with him. I still think we'll finish above Sunderland but at the moment its the outside chance of finishing above the likes of Liverpool which are interesting.

    We all ****ing hated that.

He was defeatist, telling us we 'expect too much' 'can never compete'.

Half the reason you follow football is that right to dream.
