Apologies if this has already been discussed, but I do feel a bit sorry for Steve Bruce.

The squad hasn't changed, really.

Well done for the squad, Mr Bruce. Shame you couldn't utilise it.

I don't know why some people can't give SB the little respect he does deserve, it's his squad, his signings but Unfortunatly he also had his own tactics.

Get the drift.

I think Bruce is a decent manager, he has a history of singing decent players. I just think as a mag coming to Sunderland was a move to far. I think he will do well for the next club he manages. He was just the wrong bloke for us where as SAFC and MON is a match made in heaven.

Bruce is a Championship manager at best (I even doubt that) where he was born has never made an iota of difference to myself. I was disappointed when he was announced as our manager from day one.
People roll out his signings both here and at previous clubs as if he is travelling the world to find them himself.
He was clearly signing players on others recommendation the majority of the time, then was such a bad manager he didn't know how to play them.
I base my opinion on what I have seen him produce on the pitch, even some of the games we won under him we played dreadfully and had more luck than the Mags have all season.

Please don't use the Geordie tag as an excuse for him, because myself and 99% fans gave him full support from day one. He quite clearly isn't a Premiership Manager.

I agree with the above its exactly how I felt. But it was a really big problem for some fans, I saw comments on here and the SMB weekly about it.

He did well with Wigan and he improved us taking us to our highest finish since Reid. Look at Wigan now. I think to say he is not a premiership manager is a little unfair. I don't think he is a top half premiership manager and I think he is best suited to a smaller club. I don't think we were a good fit for Bruce and he is more suited to a Wigan or Birmingham.

As I say I did not want him in the first place myself, but I wanted stability at our club and I very much respect Quinn so gave Bruce my support. I think its all turned out for the best really.
