My thoughts go out to everyone there and there is still hope. Terrible news. daily mail (who like to exadurate) says 8.9magnitude earthquake (the bbc says 8.4) tidal was from tsunami 33feet. Im waiting for john cusack to turn up with his limo

I'll second that. I was in Japan for a few weeks last October. Great place and people. They're in my thoughts.

 

Beeb are saying it was 13ft, telegraph says 30

Japan meterogical and yada yada yada say it was 8.8

Does anyone actually know whats going on

 

NHK say it was 8.8
BBC say it was 8.4
Daily mail say it was 8.9
Independant says it was 8.9


The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake was followed by at least 19 aftershocks, most of them of more than magnitude 6.0

 

Tidal wave's just going to keep on rolling...

The people I feel most sorry for are the residents of the small Pacific Islands, many of which will be completely wiped out.
