http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opi...lus-Wolves-and-Alan-Hansen-article860949.html Just skimming down this article it would seem that a few journalists (in this case, one who should be sacked for complete and utter bullshit) are already starting daft rumours about MON going to a bigger club... Apart from this I have also noticed with the Daily Fail that they never post the name of the journalist just 'Football Writer' Anyone else think this kind of journalism should be stopped ?
the scary thing is would he leave if man utd arsenal etc came calling? i wouldnt put money on him turning them down
tbf to any manager, turning down Man Utd, Man City, Chelski, Arsenal would be a difficult job to turn down but linking him to one pretty much as soon as he's just started one is bad journalism if you ask me it annoys me that newspapers allow journalists to come out with this ****
The sad sack got it right about what MON has done here, but........ "He has a philosophy, a charisma and old school man-management skills, which, as Harry Redknapp, Alex Ferguson and Dalglish are currently showing, can get the best out of players." Dalglish can get the best out of players? Methinks his Liverpool bias just leapt in the air 300 feet. The majority of the bin dippers have been dreadful.
Journalism these days seems to be hail anyone with 3 wins as a god and next England manager. After three defeats club in crisis. ALL sensational journalism to sell papers and the culture of 24 hour Internet and sports news coverage. Hopefully most people read past this ****e!
Stories sell papers....don't need to be true... Would MoN leave if offered a job at one of the top clubs? impossible to answer 100%
STOKE boss Tony Pulis reckons 'special' Martin O'Neill should be back on the FA's shortlist to be the next England manager. Pulis says there are only two candidates to take over from Fabio Capello when he steps down after Euro 2012 — Harry Redknapp and Sunderland boss O'Neill. O'Neill was considered for the England job four years ago when he was at Aston Villa. But the FA went with Capello instead. And now Pulis believes it is time to look at O'Neill again. The pair go head-to-head at the Britannia Stadium today — and Pulis said: "People talk about Harry being the next England boss but I've always said there are two candidates. For me, it's Harry or Martin. "Martin is a special manager." O'Neill's profile has risen since taking charge at Sunderland and pulling the club clear of the relegation zone. Pulis said: "Martin has gone there and turned it around almost straight away. He's done brilliantly. Martin's got that way about him and gets the best out of his team. To do that week-in, week-out is what makes you a top boss." Pulis watched Sunderland beat Norwich 3-0 at the Stadium of Light this week and was impressed.
It's interesting times ahead for many managers. Crapello leaving, Harry in court, Wenger under mounting pressure, Fergie can't last forever, Dalglish surly to be found out soon, AVB???.... If any of the above were to leave today MON would be a prime candidate to take over.
Pards up the road could be a surprise candidate. Yes man, always smart, highest placed English manager, would work for a lot less. Its possible.
I Agree Tony....I hope MONs background will somehow affect his future. Cloughie with Forest as manager won the European cups coiming with a small club and taking all the big boys on.Everybody says it will never be done again...and maybe not BUT he wouldnt be starting from so low and theres the challenge Also can you remember the little comment about "playing like Barca".....sounds to me like hes investing "himself " in the club..... ( We have our own Billionaire owner of course!)
I think O'Neill would leave for one of the bigger jobs, but he would do it without any animosity. He would probably get you guys up the table to a nice stable and consistent level, and then step aside for someone else to continue his work. Definitely doesn't seem like the type of guy to leave you guys in the lurch, although he did do that at Villa, but he seems to have a much softer spot for Sunderland.
