Can't believe you have stepped down over this. Think you shouldn't have personally, even though I didn't fully agree with the ban. Waste of your skills as a good mod, you shouldn't have resigned over one incident.
ah well, it's not just one incident. There's things going on in the background and historically which over a period of time wear you down. There comes a time when you have to stop taking bullets for others
I don't post much. Well hardly at all. However I do read a lot. Some posts are very funny as are some wind ups (especially the clever ones). Some posts are insulting and some just plain offensive. In the (mostly thankless) moderator role, I think Thai and Dave take a balanced view of individual posts and a members history, and act accordingly. Great job and thanks.
While this thread is running, I'll tell you all, I have a great respect for Thai, he has done a sterling job under, at times, enormous difficulties, many of which, you are not aware of, nor will you be made aware of them! Thai, you are a top, top man and I will miss your input on here, but I will enjoy your postings, for if you don't carry on posting, I will take out a contract on you! I have decided to carry on for now, I have in mind someone to help, and I will contact them in due course! Whoever replaces Thai, I'll tell you now you have some very big boots to fill! Dave
Sad to see this issue raise it's head again. Firstly, can I say I have MASSIVE respect for Thai and Dave, I trust them totally to mod the board, we delegate the power to them and in my opinion they do/have done an exceptional job. They've made the Norwich board one of the most enjoyable to post on as opposed to the state of some of the others. I would like to say, and this is no way intended to be a personal insult or anything even remotely of the sort, but I don't think Thai should have stepped down over this, obviously I don't have the full facts, and the decision is totally his, but it seems an unusual event to force a resignation. I don't know the full facts so I'm only basing my opinion on what I know, but if it's simply a case of SN23 getting on your nerves Thai, I would say that is not significant enough for you to leave the job you have done so well for so long. I can only assume this is a "straw that broke the camel's back" incident. I really hope this comment doesn't come across as being at all derogatory at you Thai, I don't mean it to be. I'd like to think in the years I've been posting that I've come across as a level-headed (albeit sometimes fiery) poster, so I'm just saying it as I see it. Looking forward to your input on future threads, just a shame to see this incident has prompted you to leave the moderation team. I trust you and I trust that, having taken all things into account, this was probably the correct decision for you as a person.
