Was the Bournemouth Chairman right to stoke up animosity ahead of Saturdays Game?

reading the echo last night, I was surprised both by the aggressive nature of Mitchells comments ahead of tomorrows game, and the echos stupidity in publishing them. This man seems so keen to stoke up animosity ahead of of a game for which the Boscombe fans are already getting themselves into a frenzy for. I am also saddened that the echo firstly gives this egotist the platform to indulge his vendetta, and secondly encourages it.

I am so glad we have a Chairman who acts with dignity, and does not look to create the potential for behaviour that will bring football into disrepute! I wonder what other think?

    PS 2 - 0 to saints tomorrow I think!

I didn't think you guys read the Echo any more? Was it the Southampton or Bournemouth Echo or both ODB?

Regarding his comments, he does seem to like to big it up before an important game, from what I have read in the past.

SB3, I don't get the Boscombe version, but it was in the Southern evening Echo. Mrs Olddellboy gets it, so I look at the sports section and get myself into a self rightious tizzie over it.

Didn't seem that inflammatory to me. The Bournemouth chairman says they are where they are on merit and fear no one. Exactly what I would expect him to say. Mild by his past history. I expect people to support their own team...he didn't say we were rubbish or anything like that. Please everyone just enjoy this very important game and not turn it into something it's not.

here's the link to the southern daily echo

    http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8901549.Cherries__don_t_fear_Saints__ahead_of_six_pointer/?ref=mr

i think this puts a different view on it. He says "someone high up in southampton" said they would struggle and go straight back down. No names, but implies it is NC.

"we have alreday surpassed our expectations, they still have theirs to achieve" its their cup final as well, "its not just about money and the size of your stadium.."

he clearly says different things to his local rag to come across as all nice, and then stoke things up in our rag. Compare this with the dignified silence from NC.

He just wants to ensure their little stadium is full is all. Let him have his bit of glory for goodness sake. If Bournemouth win it will be "I told you so" If they lose he will say the referee was in our pocket and complain. The man has no honor.

Totally agree ODB, this Mitchell guy is an absolute twat whose got such a big big ego!! Thank goodness we've got a great chairman in NC, who is quite the opposite by NOT seeking publicity in the same childish fashion.

Whilst the Cherries fans are proud of what their team has achieved over the last 18 months(and rightly so), they must be really embarrassed with their chairman and his big ego.

Just don't get him at all, suggest we all press the ignore button by Mitchells name!!

Suggest Mitchell just pays the bar tab and moves on!!

Also agree with the prediction 2 0 Saints

    COYR

ps by the way BBBeddy at Tescos today saw crisps were 3 for 2

Mitchell's a wide boy pure and simple.

His Company is Seven Devolopments for a reason and he's left scores of people out of pocket when the other 6 went down the pan. If he was not Chairman of Boscombe he's the type of bloke that The Echo would be running stories about. I know loads of guys in the buliding trade here in Poole and he is as dodgey as they come.

PS, rumours are that he'll soon be running Eight Devlopments.

Mitchell is only giving Bournemouth a bad name.

Let him continue his child-like behaviour and see how he feels IF we win or Saturday... <ok>

He is a passionate bloke and does care for the club........... Cortese, does he really want to be at the club or would he rather be at one of Silvio Berlusconi's 'Bunga-Bunga' parties....

He has taken us from the brink to virtually being debt free..................you also need to remember the echo enjoy adding a bit of fuel to the fire!!!

Ye but Mitchell added the fuel... <doh>

Cortese has always stuck to his word regarding transfers, stuff going on at the club etc...
When there were pathetic W** rumours on 606 about him leaving/selling up etc he even came out and did a half hour interview saying what was happening and info regarding future plans.

Mitchell came out on a Tuesday and said something along the lines of 'Eddie is staying and we are glad to keep him on board'. On Thursday Eddie Howe had gone, LOL!! <laugh>

Eddie Howe was staying but then got the offer from Burnley..

Remember Eddie Howe in his interview stated that he turned down 4 previous clubs, and Saints were one of them..
