It's weird. He was a nice enough guy and didn't do anything to warrant such a response. Plenty of other people in the football community have died and very little has been said about them.
 
People love to wind people up on here. Also because Gary Speed hung himself and took what many people see as a coward's way out and yet the media made out like he died in a tragic accident or something.

if ya rally wanna know, people made jokes as you do when a famous person died, geordies moped, this made people do it more to get the same reaction

Also the fact that people were told NOT to mock his death. It was partly a backlash against being told what to do. When it became clear that long-standing members were being censored because of the mock-offence of a group of relative newcomers, that's when things went tits-up.
 
I like slagging off people that are seen as heroes/victims even though their conduct proves otherwise (such as Mohammed, Speed, the McCanns and Beckham)

Yes. It is a sad state of affairs when anybody feels the need to take their own life. Except maybe Hitler.

What reason did Speed have (ignoring the coroner's verdict) to kill himself?

It's not like he was being persecuted or tortured or had to do it to save his family
