Serious question for RIP Barton's Tash

As you have been let go by the NHS but have a tidy little sum put by, why not use this to get qualified for a career?

This might not be as mad as it initially sounds, but Fitness First Gyms are always running courses for Personal Trainers. I don't know the cost but they help you gain the first qualification needed to get on the first step of the ladder of personal fitness training.
They normally offer places in one of their gyms, so you may have to move, but it would help give you a start.
If you then continue taking other courses, body pump seems to be the flavour of the day at the moment, not only could you offer personal training, but also regular group classes. (this is where the money is if you can build a loyal following)
There are people down here in Bournemouth earning a very nice living who have invested a few grand and a lot of effort to get qualified in this area. Get as many qualifications as you can cos the old saying "knowledge is power" is very true.
I am not saying that you have to come to the south coast to do this, you can go anywhere in the country.

Look on getting let go as an opportunity and don't waste your time sitting at home playing video games.

In all seriousness Simon mate some good advice however it does take a different kind of male to be a personal trainer.
I know that I couldn't do out like that, even though taking an all female class of 18-30 year olds would be pretty tempting

 

Fair point, but it is such a shame that a young lad like Tash with no ties and a tidy sum of cash in tha bank seems to be content with wasting his time at home waiting for what sounds like a run of the mill job to come along.

He literally has the world at his feet and this could be a great opportunity for him. It doesn't have to be personal training but at least he could start thinking about doing something that he would really like to do.

 

I would suggest he goes to the local citizens advice or connexions as hes still in the age group of under 21
he could then discuss things he likes and interested in outside of football ofcourse and could then try his career path that way

Also, Personal trainers are the new driving instructors...Everyone is doing it, give it a year and the job market will completely flooded...It's a decent shout but I reckon the best thing to get into will be some form of joinery...The whole 'organic' thing will feed into the farmhouse style housing in my opinion, people will want wooden everything...If I had the money to do so (and any idea how the stockmarket works) that's where I'd be putting my money!
