Looking forward to tomorrow's game but highly sceptical as to whether it will actually happen. My garden is like a brick and has been all day. The forecast is for another perishingly cold night. According to the OS we are pulling out all the stops, but had the pitch inspection been at midday today the game would have been called off. I can't honestly see that being much different tomorow despite the heroic efforts with heaters and polythene rugs etc. So I have low expectations and hope that I'll be pleasantly surprised. But the point of this is when should we decide? I have the (ahem!)luxury of living in Dartford so its no skin off my nose to take a decision tomorrow morning. For the geographically challenged among you, Rochdale is quite a long way away! I suspect the team is on its way already and supporters will have to leave at the crack of dawn. A midday pitch inspection will not really be much use to them. They may not bring much of a crowd but that's not really the point. I understand the commercial realities and at the end of the day we all want the game on. But the weather forecast is pretty blunt and I don't think its going to be that far wrong (I've just stepped outside and its freezing!). Shouldn't common sense prevail and the game be pulled tonight? If it was a 50/50 call then I can see the logic in waiting till the morning, but I'd put a few bob on right now that it aint gonna happen. Is that really fair to our travelling guests? If it was Stevenage or MK Dons then wait till the morning. But Rochdale!!! Thoughts?
I'm really hoping the game isn't postponed but if it is going to it needs to be done tonight or early tomorrow as I agree with you its a long old journey down from Rochdale to Charlton. It is good to see though that local firms in the form of Andrews Sykes and Axis Europe plc have helped by providing heaters and some man power!
good point - be a shame , coz no doubt others around us will be postponed, and would be nice to build an even bigger gap on the others around us.
Colchester and Bournemouth already gone - not looking good. I'm down for this one as well, seeing my folks. Could be seeing more of them than I'd expected. It's not D'Urso tomorrow is it? If so, give up all hope of seeing a game now...

Seems to be that the blowers and covers will work to around minus 4 to 5. The forecast suggest that it will have got colder overnight, but there is a chance that the covers and the blowers will do their job. If not we have yet another Tuesday night home fixture to add to those already in the calendar. Let's hope we get a game or it is called off before I set down the M11
I'm with you on hoping it's on. But I do think that if there is significant doubt which there clearly is - and the visitors come from a genuine distance that it should be called off tonight.
Was it was Rochdale last season where there were two postponed games for us, both of which were postponed within a few hours of kickoff
Funnily enough I thinkit was. Funny how that works out. Just been out. Game is bound to be off. Hope they confirm soon and put us out of our misery
BREAKING NEWS: it's off. Today's match has been postoned due to a frozen pitch (MW) #cafc ...well that's that then, i expect most football league games to be off.
