Here's what our esteemed and earstwhile fellow 606er Valjing (keep thinking is Vajling, totally inappropriate to put the J in front of the L) wrote way back when.

"What I require from all you crystal ball, soothsayers, is your predicted forecasts, for our
next 6 league matches MINE ~

    H Fulham 1 Newcastle 1
    H Fulham 1 W B A 0
    A Man C 3 Fulham 0
    H Fulham 1 Stoke 2
    A Q P R 2 Fulham 0
    A Wolves 2 Fulham 1

Total of points 4 = relegation (I sincerely hope I am wrong.) "

We've got 4 points so far Val.
Can we get more, predictions required on current form, surely Val can't be right can he?

I still don't think he is too far off to be honest, he predicted four points from the first two games so he's bang on the money there. The remaining four look very difficult.

The only one I'm sure of apart from City is QPR. We will definitely lose. That 6-0 will be at the back of their minds, not to mention their most important two men have a grudge against us and will want to show us up. Not sure about the Stoke game but don't think we will beat Wolves away.

They can have a grudge but the ability to win is a different thing.

They look a different team under MH. We sadly look just as **** as we did at the start of the season.

I reckon we can get another 4 points from the remaining fixtures.

From what I hear QPR may have improved but they are still not a team yet.

    A Man C 3 Fulham 0
    H Fulham 1 Stoke 0
    A Q P R 1 Fulham 1
    A Wolves 2 Fulham 1

Why would 4 points = relegation?

You don't see four points from six games as relegation form? That works out as 26 points from 38 games.

What makes things worse is that QPR, Blackburn and Bolton have all started picking up points too.

I'm going to be more optimistic and predict 7 points from the remaining 4 games.

    Man C 2-0 Fulham
    Fulham 2-1 Stoke
    QPR 2-2 Fulham
    Fulham 3-1 Wolves

**The Wolves match is a home game not an away one. Maybe people will re-think their predictions on that one?

Yes, we look just as poor as at the start of the season - which is to say, we don't look poor. We look like a team capable of playing excellent football but who aren't consistently producing their best. We blow hot and cold, and there is still enough hot blowing (so to speak) to see us more than safely through to the end of the season. I still think there are signs of life and signs of development and that some of us are being too quick to foresee disaster. I'm sure the naysayers are getting sick of me saying this. Well, I'm just as sick of the negativity, unreasonable criticism and namecalling. We're a club who tends to do better in the second half of most seasons, and we're sitting comfortably away from the relegation zone. I'm not saying we're safe, but we're not in the thick of a relegation battle either. Let's have a bit of perspective.

This, and as I said we can win the 3 games. I am even not feeling entirely pessimistic about today given the dip in Man City's form!

Captain, you echo my thoughts precisely. I have not been posting here very much recently for exactly that reason. I cannot believe how much negativity there has been pointed at our team and the management. As supporters we are supposed to support our team and the club as a whole. I wil reiterate, Martin Jol had no time over the summer to get the team training as he would have liked. He has simply had to prepare for one game after the next. I know many of you will say that that is his job, but I will wait to comment on his ability after next season, when he has had a chance to get his players playing as he wants.

As for these fixtures, we are capable of winning all of these games. We were dreadful against City in the first half this season but battered them in the second half, so we could get something from this game if the performs as it can We do seem to play better in a more open game where there is space available. As for Stoke, QPR and Wolves, we can certainly beat these teams.

Let's get behind the team, we have one of the strongest squads we have ever had, the players need our support not our negativity.

I agree with captain and froggy, while results have been inconsistent and at times it would take a brave man to suggest Jol always gets his tactics spot on, we've done enough to be as it stands a mid-table team. We have beaten arsenal at home, liverpool at home, drawn chelsea and arsenal away, drawn city at home and beaten newcastle at home. Lets consider that this is Jol's first season and as the others say get some perspective. I know you get the likes of Martin O Neil working instant mircacles at sunderland, but very few managers are in his league so we have to work with what we've got. Was I happy a week ago trecking to goodison and losing? No. Was I happy this week losing Zamora to that clown Sparky at our rivals? No. Was I happy with the performance midweek? Not particularly. But things are what they are, we've got arguably the toughest game in the league this afternoon so lets support the team and leave Jol to do his job.

But you already have 27 points and even if you continued your 4 from 6 for the last , you'd probably still survive with 10 points. Everyone goes through poor form though and I wouldn't stress a bit of relegation form over 6 games, anyway, Arsenal have 5 points from their last 6, everyone struggles at some point.

The thing is that we should be ending the season with much more than 37 points and relying on other teams to lose games.

This is what I'd predicted way back when, underestimating how pathetic we'd play against Roy's boys. I think today's result will be ugly.

Fulham 2 Newcastle 1 (Newcastle not playing as well as they were)
    Fulham 2 W B A 0
    Man C 3 Fulham 0
    Fulham 1 Stoke 0
    Q P R 2 Fulham 1...

Our form this season looks like this:

    DLLDDDWLLWLDDWLWLDDWLWD

Inconsistent is definitely the word! We've not lost two in a row since October, but haven't managed back-to-back wins all season. A prediction of 4-6 points from the next four seems a fair bet. We should beat Wolves at home, and will pick up at least a point from QPR or Stoke. As for tonight's match - I have a strange feeling it won't be the routine win for City that most people expect. For the first time this season they're under a bit of pressure, and they're missing a few players. If they don't start the game well we could have half a chance.

So we got 4 points from 3 matches, but should have been able to get 6 with a win against Sir Roy.
As for the next 3 games, I still expect between 4 and 7 points.
