Oh dear indeed. If it's true, it's depressingly desperate. Weren't they talking about getting a young driver in? Truly sad and pathetic. I'd like to see them do well but this is pitiful. Narain is probably a very nice man (and rich too, no doubt) but he's not an F1 driver.

But this is the inevitable consequence of all the money being directed to the top teams. I really think there needs to be a much greater share of the prize fund redistributed to teams at the back of the grid, who naturally won't receive as much sponsor interest as those further up it.

 

So they have a development driver and a driver with a wad of cash with which to use on the developments. Are HRT playing a long game? I just hope for their sake they can qualify, they have vastly inferior drivers this year compared to last.

 

I couldn't agree more. When I wrote sad and pathetic I meant it sincerely. And as much as I dislike Red Bull's domination spreading through the sport, last year's arrangement with Ricciardo was better all-round, I think.
