All joking aside, I think it's truly dreadful that he's even playing for England, let alone being granted the privilege of wearing the captain's armband. What kind of example does this set for the FA? Not a very good one, I'll warrant.
Some might say that the FA are weak, feeble and easily influenced .... so quick to deal with Suarez but too scared to do so with Terry.
I can understand the FA holding off its own procedures, pending the outcome of the trial, for fear that they may prevent a fair trial being heard. Also, the standard of proof in the magistrates court is going to be far higher than that required before the FA's tribunal, so a guilty verdict before the beak will mean a certain sanction from the FA. What annoys me, is that anyone should feel it appropriate that Terry be permitted the privilege of representing and captaining his country with such a massive cloud hanging over him. It makes a mocker of our national side and is extremely distasteful.
Whats worse, racism or missing a drugs test? Rio was banned with immediate effect till his case was reviewed, why not JT?
It looks as though the FA will, at the very least, strip Terry of his captaincy. I don't believe it is enough, but it would be a good start. How, in all honesty, can Terry shake the hands of black players, from other countries, given his racism?
The Football Association is set to remove the England captaincy from John Terry, the BBC has learned. FA chairman David Bernstein has spoken to board members and the majority view is Terry should be stood down. He would still be available for selection for the national team. It would be the second time Terry, 31, has been stripped of the captaincy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16866149 I guess to the classless chavs Terry is a great role model - to the rest of the football community he is a disgrace.
I can't see Terry and Ferdinand going to the Euros. I personally wouldn't take either, but a dilemma for Capello. I guess he is hoping that Rio is injured.
What about Scotty Parker as captain he certainly has the credentials. And he plays the English way hard but fair has a bit of class about him.
