Can someone tell me what Paddy McCourt did to receive death threats? People keep saying Lennon is to blame because of his behaviour but Paddy has done nothing to upset fans of any other club yet he got bullets sent to him in the post as well. Hate figure? Lennon became a hate figure by signing a piece of paper - his Celtic contract. From that day on he has faced this ****e - and its been getting worse. He faced no abuse before then, hell many an NI fan probably cheered him up until that point. Then with a flick of a pen the first death threats arrived. He's actually done very little other than win (on the main) against your mob. Just to edit being a lary **** doesnt count. Ferguson was a hateful figure too - didnt have to live like Lennon though Even Novo - yes there were bampots who posted online threats but they were condemned by the great majority of celtic fans.....and the media made a big thing about the threats against him....can the same be said about lennon?

I condemned the folk who sent pseudo death threats to Novo as much as the ones who sent pseudo death threats to Lennon. How can anyone condone it? We have to ask the questions to address these matters. Why do these people make themselves targets for madmen. Mostly because of their conduct and their lack of professionalism on the pitch/trackside at times. You can criticise the Lennons and Novos for inflaming situs whilst condemning these gutter snakes sending these death threats. As you said Dev it's embarrassing to be Scottish when this **** happens but the professionals need to do far more in the public eye to diffuse things. I think they already have with Mccoust and Lennon burying the hatchet. I'm sure a truce has been made between the two and efforts to keep that truce without losing the passion!
