you nicely avoided my question Anyway, I dont make excuses for Bates. I believe i see it how it is, others just don't like him because of his background and decided from day one that they didn't like him. I see the good stuff he does as well as the bad stuff
he's not doing anything good. We're paying some of the highest prices in the country for tickets, merchandise, whatever, and get mediocrity in return. We don't like him because of his background because we're not naive enough to think he's magically changed his ways since buying Leeds United. He has failed to deliver on promises time and time again, blames everyone else for mistakes, never admitting fault when at the end of the day he's in charge, he makes the decisions, so the buck stops with him. He constantly slags off anyone who says anything that contradicts his own opinions, choosing that over valuing the point of views of others, being understanding and disagreeing in a civilised manner. He calls the fans morons for questioning his authority (sounds like a dictator - if that doesn't ring alarm bells you have problems), in fact he slags off anyone who questions any of his decisions. Any argument he has ever used to back up a decision he's made has been filled with contempt for those who questioned him, and the facts are always twisted and set up to cover up the truth. He's scared off investors, he's practised hypocrisy for years ("if you want premiership football, you pay premiership prices" springs to mind and makes me want to vomit). The bottom line is the man cannot be trusted. I wouldn't trust him to wipe his own ass. How can you possibly trust a man who has not only welshed on his promises time and time again, but I don't remember him ever following through with a single promise that has been made?
True, many of us oldies remember him from his Chelsea days and his anti Leeds United rants have always stuck in my throat and I'll never apologise for hating him and chelsea, but I was willing to give him a chance. But even I can see that he's more interested in building a pretty stadium to sell off at a profit instead of investing in the team. Unless the players suddenly start playing out of their skins, we won't even make the play-offs. Although I'm hoping the yank and the yid loanee make a difference.
Morning all. "Yid loanee"? Naughty Irish. On Bates, he has made it clear that he's building the ground before the team. Quite rightly, we don't like this, as much because as fans, we see the shorter term & as such want success now. He, being a businessman, is taking a longer view. He has done for PR what Crippin did for medicine & Hunter, Harris,, Tommy Smith etc did for needlepoint & the WI!!! He could help himself a lot by sitting down with a group of fans to try & explain himself a bit more & in a more sensible manner, rather than just call fans morons. Moving forward before my fingers seize up in the cold, let's hope we win well tomorrow & that whoever the Manager is, he gets us playing some good footy & we make the play offs. In Grayson I did trust, but we MOT.
Obviously Boggers I apologise if you are jewish(offence wasn't intended), but I've been called a paddy/mick all my life and I certainly don't get offended. You won't find me playing the R card.
LOL Pot calling the Kettle I have lost count the amount of times you have left a thread alone after being proven wrong.
