Where the hell has he said that he's going to give Ireland a permanent deal?

Pardew said Ireland COULD get a permanent move (obvious), and that he still has time to impress him. That's obvious too.

I'm just hoping he is going to rediscover his Man Citeh form in an environment where he feels wanted. Seems to be that sort of player.

50k a week is all the incentive i would need to give 100% like.

I thought he was outstanding at City like. If we are going to push on next season we will need strength in depth, and IMO signing Ireland makes sense. This is not the position I would look to fill as a priority mind, but if he actually WANTS to play for us and sign for us, and we know what quality he can bring, get him signed I say!

Good player if he get's a run in the team and is good, why not offer him a contract.

    Bit of a misleading headline.

    the article says
"Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has promised Stephen Ireland he still has time to earn a permanent move to St James's Park."
'He's still got time to impress me because I still think there is a chance of something permanent here for Stephen. Things at Villa aren't going too well. But I want to have a good look at him before he goes back"

Sounds to me like good man management.

To be fair we know that Ireland when motivated and playing frequently can be a great player to have in the squad and if Pardew thinks he can motivate him then he's potentially worth a shot at signing.

Still got a good chance to get a good look at him and make a decision. Might as well slip the idea in now to try and set it up than battle it out in the summer when we've got more pressing matters to address (Strikers..)
Makes him feel wanted too! Increases chances of positive performances, etc etc.
    S'all good, nobody panic

This one has quotes fortuantly, so just ignore the bits inbetween where the journalist is talking ****.

I thought he was arguably city's best player when super stars were coming in around him. If we get him playing anywhere near that level we'l have an awesome player on our hands.

Give over man GLIB the majority of your posts that I've read on 606 are doommongering bullshit, don't bring them here as well. As many people have already said had you read the article properly you would see that it states he could get one not will. Quit the Pardew bashing, its tiresome...

You will have missed the question marks over the original article then?

I'm not bashing Pardew, I simply think that Ireland has no interest in playing for anybody else but Manchester City - it's not going to happen anytime soon, he simply didn't try at Aston Villa and he hasn't managed to get off the treatment table here yet. Signed in January and not yet played?

I would suggest that he is not really interested in anything but picking up his substantial wages for little or no return.

As for your "doommongering bullshit" comment - <laugh> - you really are a prize twat aren't you?

It's called my opinion, if you don't like it then feel free to **** off and die, but please spare me the self-righteous whingeing routine.
