<peacedove>Gerrard Houllier brought Djibril Cisse to Anfield, I think his first game was against Tottenham at
White Hart Lane, he scored that day.QPR signed him on the last day of January transfer window. His first game for QPR
was away to Aston Villa, he also scored against them last night. The result was Aston Villa 2:2QPR.
Do you have a fond memory of Djibril Cisse.?<ok>

Loads, really rated him and had he not been injured, could have made it with us. Offered a lot but I think NOT being one of rafa's signings, he had the cards stacked against him to be one of the first shipped out. Getting married in all red everything, the FA Cup final goal, goals in our quest to CC final and CL winning glory, he was here during a very prosperous time.

i remembe rhim really well... thick as two planks... mad as a badger... could not keep onside at all.... finally bought a lordship.... hit his girlfirend....

For me the issue was he just was too immature and he really couldn;t get the offside rule.

    <laugh>

pity he hit his girlfriend in that big mansion then.....

I think his injuries took the pace off a little but if you look overall he never delivered i think a complete player would be cisses pace and dirks game intelligence... cisse was just too damned dumb and relied totally on that pace.

It must be an old by-law that allows the Lord of the manor of Frodsham to beat his woman when the feeling arises.

Once, before Cisse actually signed for Liverpool, I was visiting my grand parents. I was watching Liverpool v Auxeire in the Eufa Cup. My grand father, who is not a big football fan, came in. Cisse came on the screen with his spider man hair and he says 'oo, He's an eccentric fellow'.

Cisse. The many with the wacky hair!

Not a fond memory, but I remember when he broke his leg.

Said he would be out for the remainder of the season, but he came back for a few games including Istanbul.

Yeah,I can still picture him sitting on the ground in agony waving for help it was truly sickening,But i was made up for him when he scored the pen in Istanbul and to see the triumphant look on his face afterwards.

I have some very fond memories of Cisse.

As mentioned before, FA cup goal, penalty in Istanbul etc.

The problem he had was his finishing, there was no finesse to his game, would get one on one and always try to put his laces through the ball instead of finding the gap and slotting.

If he learnt this he would of been very good I think because he did get one on one a fair few times only to blast it at the keeper.

This in spades - how was a so-called 'professional' footballer able to stray offside so much???

I remember his debut goal vs Spurs: Pure strikers' instinct. If it wasn't for his injuries and lack of tactical awareness he would have been a good player for us. His goal the other day showed that he's still got the strikers' instinct.

Watch Antonio Valencia and Angel di Maria play...

All I remember of Cisse is that he had a different haircut every week, and even when it was only stubble it was still blonde!
