Where did i mention in the run up to an election ? I was talking about opinion polls in general
Polls are meant to be an indication of how voting would go if the election was held at that point. But as we know on the day of a vote most people opt for "what they know" and put in a safe vote.
At some point though the survey/poll has to count for something, it has to have some meaning otherwise why do we bother with them ? Companies use them during feasibility studies, some use them to measure customer satisfaction. You can only go by the information you are given.

The people and companies who conduct polls though, generally would use more accurate measures than the AST.
Polls can always be slanted though.
I could do a poll on here asking 10 Wenger fans 'whether wenger should go now' and the results would be different than if I asked 10 anti-wenger fans the same question.
It's also very much in the way the question is asked:
Q. If Arsene was not to win anything for the next 10 years and the club not making Europe in that time should he go now?
Q. Should Arsene go now, even though we will be challenging (and possibly winning) the league and europe for the next 10 years?

The problem with polls, is that they determine what is popular rather than what is right. The strategy at the club isn't going to change, so if it is that you wish to change, replacing Wenger is not the best way of going about that.
I want them to take note that as bad as our form is, it's no worse than all the rest of the big clubs around us before mouthing off about sacking anybody. Villas-Boas and Dalgish should be gone too on that basis.

AVB and Dalglish really I do not see as my concern. Arsene, the board and Arsenal are.
If our form is no worse Murray, how come on this form, we have been sliding down the table and away from contention with the best, around this time last year, this time at the start of this season and of course, now. We cannot base our fortunes on those of the other teams. Sadly we now have to rely on them messing it up. We should though really go out and do our thing, play our games and win them but we're clearly not doing that.
So yes it's bad and yes we have cause to complain.
The AST survey simply captured a small percentage of fans in a snapshot in time. It was taken at the end of August after we'd just lost Nasri and Fabregas and before we'd made several signings. Morale was low, uncertainty high and anxiety levels were running high. Had it been taken after we'd signed Arteta, Gervinho, Santos, Mertesaker it might have shown different results. Had it been taken after the 8-2 loss at Utd, the results would have been different again. Had it been taken in the middle of December when we were on a long unbeaten run, it would have been very different again. So it's neither representative of all fans nor does it give a clear indication of the long term opinions of Arsenal fans. It's simply a limited snapshot, limited to a particular moment in time.
It ain't that you don't care. You just you obviously don't have an opinion on the matter. Because it hasn't crossed your mind.
