Its not the money that's the problem, its the attracting of players that will improve our team and make an impact straight away when we don't have CL football. You can only buy players up to a certain level without CL football. We either do what Spurs did and take chances on British players for high prices and players who are cheaper from weaker leagues or we take the Man City route and spend millions on decent players just to get us into the top 4 then buy a new squad once we're in the top 4. Its not surprising we are taking the Spurs route with the FFP rules coming in and also us having Damien Comolli who was the main man behind Spurs transfer policy at the time.
It always nice to get a pot, but the true indication of the level of your game is league position and that will always be more important to me. Top three are out of reach for us now (barring Spurs getting docked 20 points for some financial irregularity), but fourth is still possible and I want us to get it. Can't really blame Spuds fans for getting excited over their current success but there's always a danger in getting too cocky too soon.
I don't really dislike/hate anyone on the Spurs board, I find HIAG funny more than anything as he is their equivalent of KPR. They have some decent posters too, suck as Yid Vicious, notsosmartspur and PNP. On the old 606 it was a bit different, there was also a lot of wumery between the Liverpool-Chelsea boards...it's quite friendly between us on here.
I work with a Spurs fan and have to say he is a top bloke. Those you come across in the general pubic are on their hight horse big time. Part of me thinks fair play, they are doing well, they're used to being in Arsenal's shadow for far too long, but I must admit they can get a bit much. Let them have a couple of years in the lime light. It'll soon change.
